I'm a Stones throw from there Fridays...hmmm... If some of the CSFMB cretins will be in attendance, I may show up for a drink or 3 as well. |

N'awlins.... good for you, HHJ. If you have a chance to go out to dinner a few times, my strongest recommendation is Arnaud's. Try the alligator sausage appetizer. The Commander's Palace also is excellent, but my most vivid memory of it is Bill Belichik's ex-wife whacking me with her purse as she and coach Hoody walked past our table. She was very apologetic... I told her not to worry... just cover the number Sunday. Coach Hoody got quite a kick out of it. And they did cover, in an upset SB victory over the Rams. Whoo-hoo! Have fun. |

Thanks Mac, it is a work trip and the agency post-poned the visit for a week, which happens to fall on Jazz fest. The agency claimed they had no idea it was Jazz Fest that weekend which I am suspicious of but just makes more fun for us.... We'll try to hit Arnauds... |

HHJ, if you really want old line service and don't want to leave the Quarter, hit Galatoire's (on Bourbon St.). Semi formal but worth it. Between there and with the morning Scotch Milk punch/Creole Bloody Mary at Brennan's, never went wrong in the old days. |

That place has always intrigued me due to its history: http://www.napoleonhouse.com/history1.html. I'm just wondering if it's worth a stop. And is Central Grocery still the place to go for a Muffaletta? Or would you recommend something else? You've talked about New Orleans in other posts and seem to know a Hell of a lot more about the city than I do, so any tips would be appreciated. |

Nawlins thoughts... I know K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen might now be considered a bit touristy, but it's still the home of Paul Prudhomme and the original blackened cooking style. Anybody who loves blackened fish ought to try it once so you then know what this dish is supposed to be like when it's done properly. It never disappoints. The former locals like WZ and RR might have a better place for gumbo, but I haven't found it. I also endorse Arnauds, Brennans and Commanders Palace, but also have a special fondness for Mr. Bs in the Quarter, which is a bit less formal and the bistro-style menu is top notch. The only resto on the common tourist list I would probably tell you not to bother with is Court of Two Sisters. I've been there twice and both times it was mediocre. |

NO is one of those places where it is difficult to have a bad meal. It may be overpriced, it may be touristy, it may even be bad for NO but it is rarely bad when compared to the rest of the world. I would rank NO in the top cities for food in the world. |

How come the www.AM1000.com website doesn't list this 'event' Doug? Did you hear about it on your imaginary radio, or did Harry text it to you while taking a crap and PuNk your ass? |

This is yet another MJH event where I will be on vacation with nothing to do. I gotta buy you a beer, Coast (since I'm not driving to Wisconsin). |
