I'm surprised no one talked about this. Angelo was asked if Urlacher had a gun to his head. Angelo replied "If he does, it has water in it". Given Angelo's Jurkoesque grasp on the English language, I've got to give him props on that answer. It was pretty good. |

Didn't hear it. That is a good line. Angelo can be a straight shooter. Especially on interviews with B&B and MJH. Maybe they ask the right questions. When he does press conferences he seems more uptight and reserved. I think he's nervous in front of people. That or our beat writers don't ask the right questions or they accept bull shit answers. I think Angelo likes B&B and MJH. That's why he's more honest with them. |

I've always been surprised with how fortright he is in these interviews. I wouldn't blame him if he was a little bit more boring about some of the answers, although I definitely enjoy it. |

When Angelo said that they felt Williams was the most NFL-ready of the tackles, did he mean of those that were remaining on the board or did he mean of all the tackles in the draft? I sure hope it was the former because there's a guy by the name of Jake Long that sure looks NFL-ready to me. |

I'm pretty sure he was referring to those available to pick up at 14. Then again... |

Given Angelo's Jurkoesque grasp on the English language, I've got to give him props on that answer. It was pretty good. I love Angelo's comment on Urlacher. As I said before, Urlacher has no leverage and the Bears would be crazy to renegotiate the deal of a player who has four years left on his deal. By next year, he'll be lucky to be a top 5 MLB in the league, which doesn't warrant a renegotiation with three years left. In 2010, he may be a top 10 MLB, which doesn't warrant renegotiating with two years left. And in 2011, with one year on his deal, Urlacher may get re-upped if he is still an effective MLB in this league. Sit out. Sit out the entire offseason. More reps for the backups for when your vertebrae explode out of the back of your neck on your next tackle. |
