Post subject:  ASK Mac?

Mac has not done this in a while and with the "Ask us anything "segment they had the other day I figured Id throw this out for Mac to mull over.

I heard some good rants in some other sections about your station and a question came to mind .

After a year of Silvy&Waddle would you rather hear them in the 9 to Noon slot or give Hood, Carmen& JD a shot in that time slot? I really seem to enjoy the 3 young guys more and more and find the Silvy and Waddle experience to be boring lately.

I think S&W are ok and light years from what was in that slot before the change but I think the other 3 bring more to the table and seeing Waddle has a little Salisbury in him when it comes to spreading himself a little thin and has 40 jobs it takes away from the focus of the show.

Your thoughts and why do your ratings to go up and down?

The fewer people that listen, ratings down. More people and the ratings go up. Its not that hard a concept really.

On Friday's ask us anything call in segment, both Harry and Mac mentioned that the June 6, 2006 on air antics eventually ended up costing Spaceballs his PD job at WMVP?

Mac,
I vaguely remember one of you guys saying at another time that Spaceballs "quit".
So what really happened?

I thought "Ask Us Anything" was a B and B bit???
They must have stolen it from MJH.

Maybe Terry & Mac got joint custody from their divorce.

If Mac hadn't left Terry with WYC that show would have absolutely nothing. Here's your chance TBHT, ask MAc what happened between Suintres and North.

I always suspected that you are Suintres.

Post subject:  Jurko vs Harry

What happened to Jurko vs. Harry? I know your happy for me; but I was on the game six times over a few years and am 4-1-1. I loved the game. I enjoyed the AB Steaks and my closet full of jerseys.

Any thought to bringing it back tournament style? The old Sports Jeopardy Tourney on the HFC rocked. (where is Wild Bill?)

I realize the problem in the past has been lame contestants. If you wanted to do a tournament, you could qualify listeners via a quiz they would need to come to the Emily Barr Center and take. At least the contestants would have sports IQ above room temperature.

How many listeners do you think are going to go downtown to take a quiz to maybe get on a show to maybe win a jersey?

Mac, if you found cupcakes in a bag attached to your front door one morning, no name on the box or in the bag, would you eat them, and if so, would you like a couple cupcakes?

And most of the rest of the free world only gets busy signals when they try to call into MJH, especially for a contest. So what's your secret that you would happen to be selected "randomly" SIX times for a contest they played, what 50 times total? The odds of that happening due purely to random chance must be HUGE.

You're right about the busy signal during contests, so I agree with your point on that, but in general I dont think its very busy. The 3 or 4 times I have called in I never got a busy signal.

I figured you had some kind of secret. There are what 100 people maybe that try calling in to these contests at any one time? It might be a much higher number, I don't know. But you have beaten astronomical odds. Even if it's only 100 people trying to call in for any contest, the odds of any one of us being selected are 1/100, or a 1% chance of getting in. The odds of getting through and being selected six times are 1/100 x 1/100 x 1/100 x 1/100 x 1/100 x 1/100. So the odds of someone being selected six times for the game is, conservatively, 1 in 1,000,000,000,000. The chances of winning any US lottery once are much less.

Nice job, Shultzyy. You have found the edge to be selected for radio contests. And like any good gambler who has found a way to beat the game...you ain't sayin, you're just sayin.
