I just tuned in at 2:25 and was hoping this wouldn't be a topic of discussion at all today, but I guess it was inevitable. Leave it to Harry to encourage and/or perpetuate a conversation about a tedious topic.

I liked the interview with Hawk.

Harry - Hawk, Harry here. When I was growing up my butler told me announcers shouldn't say "No Hitter." Heeeeeeee.

Hawk - Harry. This is the Hawk. I'll do it again next time. Fuck you.

Harry we all know your stupid position. Quit brining it up every time this happens. It's getting old. Jesus Christ!!!

Hawk is right. He has Sox fans that might not know. Good to let them know so they can call people.

Uh oh. We have a new poster named Patrick. Is this Mac's kid?

Stay away Patrick. We're not a good influence for kids.

Maybe not. He didn't capitalize to start a sentence. No son of Mac would make that error.

His first post was a sarcastic bite at the Cubs and he likes to write parody songs. Hmmmmmm.

This place will completely lose the edge when some of youse kids grow up and start posting. I can just see concerned fathers and mothers frantically editing their 10 year old posts to get rid of f-bombs they launched.

i am no kid i simply enjoy reading the board and thought i would try posting, also i don't captalize very much unless i am looking for a job. as for f bombs i reserve those for when i watch my sox offense drop a game 1-0, i'll take my shots at the cubs, bulls, bears, hawks and sox like a true chicago sports fan does. i root for any chicago team because they represent our fine city but i will also take them down a peg. i can't wait for the negative posts to come my way.

Ok. I wasn't trying to insult you. Welcome.

I just know Mac has a kid named Patrick. It just struck me when your first post was here. You took a shot at the Cubs and mentioned a parody song. That sounded like a McNeil. That's all.

The Cubs were on Fox baseball last weekend, and regarding Fukudome, Joe Buck kept bring up the "Sports Illustrated Jinx." He also brought up a bunch of statistics claiming that Tim McCarver himself suffered from the Jinx back when he was playing in '67.

To which McCarver responded, "Can't anyone ever just be bad? Without it being because of some jinx? Haven't we reached that point as a sensible society?"

Best thing I've ever heard him say.

My favorite McCarver line was how he kept refering to runners "hydroplaning" around the bases during the 2006 playoffs, yet he didn't use the line once during the games that it was actually a wet field.

It's dumb.

Think about it. How many times was Jordan on SI before each of his 6 championships?

How many times were the great Yankees on SI before their titles. I'm talking the 50s, 60s, 70s and 90s. I don't know the answer but I assume a lot.

It doesn't seem you are very fond of using a period either....
