If Rush Limbaugh is in the radio HOF (class of 1993), how is it that Steve Dahl or Jonathon Brandmeirer aren't? Prediction: 2016 HOF inductees....Mac, Jurko & Harry...or at least Mac & Jurko |

....and Jurko should be 'given the cane' for saying you can't compare Eastern Illinois University's Hall of Fame to the NFL Hall of Fame. There is no such thing as an NFL Hall of Fame. Coffee Good Kid. Caffeinate!!! |

Well, if there is one of these "Radio Hall of Fames" you know Pappy will try to buy his way in. He loves Hall's of fame. I think he's bullied, bought or shmoozed his way into 10 of them. Too bad he doesn't use the same amount of energy making his show good. Pappy likes these things cuz everybody is forced to tell him how great he is. Doesn't matter that it's all phony bullshit. |

Prediction: 2016 HOF inductees....Mac, Jurko & Harry...or at least Mac & Jurko Jeff, please tell me you are not equating Dahl, Brandmeier or MJH with Limbaugh. Like him or not, Limbaugh saved AM Radio in the late 80's. Limbaugh has, for better or worse, 15-20 million listeners that tune each week. If Dahl or Brandmeier or MJH had that they would not be on in Chicago only. Listerine is your friend. |

I think the MJH boys have a better shot at making the "Internet streaming HOF" |

They can boast listenership due to the number of outlets but do are they really a strong draw anywhere? |

Howard Stern has arguably had more impact on radio than anyone else the last 25+ years. He is somehow not in the HOF. I realize he is not everyone's cup of tea; however he has impacted the medium and is now doing the same at Sirrius. |

I was under the impression that Rush's national appeal was declining. Isn't Rush just one of several conservative voices that are now on the airwaves? |

Yes. Where would radio be without "Homeless Hollywood Squares?" |

I occasionally listen to Limbaugh and it seems like it's always the same show... "Let's see what I can dig up on those evil democrats". Numbers can be misleading. I'll agree that he does deserve to be in the radio HOF, but like several others have mentioned...where is Stern? He has been a pioneer in LCD listenership and has been the figure head for satellite radio. I think the powers that be couldn't stomach Stern in their precious hall. |

Nowadays any right wing blowhole can get syndicated in many markets without ever having hosted a radio show, yes you Dennis Miller. In that sense they're like ESPN while Rush has naturally earned much of his audience. |

Whether or not you like Stern is irrelevant. His impact on the medium cannot be questioned. Since Stern left terrestrial radio for satellite, Infinity broadcasting has fallen on their face. Their radio stations have seen declines in ratings, which has lead to declines in ad revenue. Their radio stations are worth a fraction of what they once were. They have tried in every major market in the country, to replace Howard Stern, and have failed miserably. Some of these stations are so desperate, even Imus got another job. Why is the National Association of Broadcasters so against the Sirius/XM merger? Because terrestrial radio is dying, and they know it. If the satellite companies merging is a competition-free monopoly, then why is the NAB so scared ? |
