Regarding changes at the Score... a few of you asked me to investigate it a few weeks ago. I have. Here's the skinny.

As I predicted... Score management likely will let soon-to-be-expired contracts run down until maturation. This does not make those suits evil or atypical; it's a business strategy... keep the guys guessing and it will break their spirit.. make them feel grateful they have a job.

Mike's deal is the next to expire... and I think it's very soon. Boers' deal is up in September. My moles tell me they have not made a serious offer to him.

I guess this is "the news is there's no news" post.... but I promised I'd check and I did. Plus... "we" needed a new thread. Monday's show with Hoody, Lynyrd Skynyrd and that fighting threads are old and/or mundane. I'd welcome others to change the backdrop here in this section. For example, finish this sentence: you know it's Harry speaking when __________. You know it's a White Sox game when ________________.
Let's pick it up folks! This is an enterntaining forum usually... but this week it's as sleepy as our final half hour on a typical day.

This has been a bad week for this Section. Same can be said for you this week Mac.

...You've been slow with a joke, craving a smoke, and it seems there's some place that you'd rather be.

I didn't know Boers contract was expiring in September. I'll bet the Score thinks they can pair Bernsie with anybody and might not need to keep him. Or have Bernsie go solo. Bernsie is clearly the star.

I hope they don't pair him with Larry. That would kill the show. You should be rooting for that Mac. Although, Terry is your buddy and you probably want to see him get paid.

Nah, me neither.

hmmm. CBS radio is very cheap and every company that owns stations in the major markets have been cutting costs left and right. I bet Bernsie will fly solo and the question will be if two score originals are sent packing by the end of the year.

That's a negative for all listen-a-lot types, HHJ. The average person gives a show 20 minutes a day. A lot of it is going to be recycled and redundant for those with us for a long time.

Loved the Billy Joel reference, Beardown.

Can't wait to read more defensive responses regarding the board. God does this place have the penchant for being a dish-it-out, but-can't-take-it club. Have at it. Make it interesting. C'mon, SID. I know you're out there 'cuz I can hear you breathin'.

That's pretty much what they all do lately....

They let the premiere talent (ie the top paid, not the most talented) play out their contract, and then the talent either leaves, or they get a take it or leave it deal at substantially lower pay.

I will say this, if both Pappy's and Boers's contracts run out soon, that's shitty timing for both of them, as I'm sure advertising money has been declining since the start of this year.

I don't see how either of them could slum it with us commoners and survive making a quarter million a year. ;)

Well, why do that when they can cause some squirming? Mikey's deal, we all have strident opinions on. If they mess with Terry, I predict a far less stellar competition for you with Drinky or Goff as co-hosts. I know they've both done well in fill-in roles; I'm thinking long term use of them as on-air talent.

Let's see: I know it's Harry speaking when I hear a bad joke, when I hear unbridled (and unexplainable) boosterism, when I feel a vacuum emanating from the direction of the speakers.

Thanks, Mac! Tell Terry to come visit

That certainly sounds like a description of you Mac. Old Mr. Insecurity himself. Your show got boring because YOU let it. You've become lazy with that big check you keep reminding people you get. Try earning it again, like you used to. Why worry about this board when you don't seem to worry about that crapfest you now put out. Go back a give people some more fake laughter at Harry's unfunny jokes.

Bernsie can't go solo. It's like, there's too much for him to keep track of when he tries, and the show's quality dips ~30%. He needs a partner.

Another thing, I like when he makes fun of Jared Weaver (Paltrow comments from Wed's show), that fat tub of guts looks like 25 pounds of horsecrap in a 15 pound bag and he wants to start talking to people about their looks?

You know its a Sox game when you find yourself wishing that Harrelson would stroke out like James Garner

Not so nWo4Life - but now that you mention it, you're a bit of a freakazoid yourself. Living proof of what happens when jizz after a butt fucking runs into a pussy. Anal conception baby!

The word on 35thStreet is that Sick likes to suck the cum out of opposing homosexual fans asses after a butt fucking.
Tell us how Cubbie cum tastes Slick, or should we wait for your buddy Beefbuttfuck to tell us?

Okay Mac, you asked for it:
You know it's Harry talking, when the comment is followed by Jurko saying...interesting, as sarcastically as possible. You know it's a Sox game, when you tune into a baseball game and the commentator has stopped talking, due to his inability to deal with the fact that the game is going poorly for the team he calls the game for.

You know its Harry talking when he rambles on way too much about how the Cubs will pull through this slump(whenever they are on one) and that this guy has a great future. Fuck sakes, I love the Cubs too but that guy is way too optimistic sometimes. You know its a White sox game when Hawk says Mercy.

You call it unhappy, I call his last post unoriginal, lacking humor and a little Tommy Williams-like - a failure to entertain.

Mac, do you really want to take that stroll down memory lane to May 1, 2007? I stand by those responses regarding board criticism directed by you.

If you want to start a real juicy thread, dish out a little more info on the rift you alluded to between MJH and Waddle. I'm suprised this did not develop into a thread as I thought it was interesting info. Is Waddle giving the station the high hat (to borrow a phrase from Miller's Crossing that I have always liked)?
