Post subject: | Vinny Press CONFERENCE. |
I had to laugh with Mac with all the retred reporters , names from the past who showed up at this press conference for Vinny today and the media outlets they work for and that I have never heard of. Names like Les Grobstien (who I like), Tom Shaer, Pat Bentkowski, Mitch Robinson, to name a few. Johnny Morris and Tim Weigal were also rumored to be there. Way too much time spent on a coach they will fire after a 2 years anyway. Get on with some baseball talk already . The Blackhawks will be the Winter team with all the headlines and bouquets being thrown at them and they won't get this type of coverage. |

Johnny Morris is dead? Pat Benkowski is an asshole. A few weeks back he threw a full beer at some girl's head at TCs because she asked to repeat the question or something. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Mor ... n_football) I knew Weigal had worn a plad suit to the grave. Couldn't find anything that said Morris was a goner. |

Johnny Morris isn't dead, but he almost died from an aneurysm over a decade ago. Currently Johnny Morris has more life in him than the collective cast of CBS2 Chicago's 10PM staff. |

Obviously, Vinny's coaching prowess will obviously be lacking. Obviously. Have you ever heard a more desultory performance from a coach in front of the media? I think Vinny used "obviously" four times in one sentence. That was obviously embarassing. And Steve Kerr deserves a who you crapping award of the week. Kerr said "Vinny interviewed well". With whom? A wall? |

I hope MJH didn't interrupt with drops or commentary during the interview. If they did, Teddy would probably be on their case. |

Where was Red Motlow? He was busy getting an exclusive on the Sky I'll bet. Who are these organizations that Shaer and Bentkowski worked for anyway? "TSN Interactive" ? WTF? Can anyone just create something, and get credentials. |

Why can we get credentials for CSFMB? More people know about this site than Shaer's and Bentkowski's outfits. |

You can almost make up a newspaper or website and get press creds. It wont work for everything (say, a World Series game). My buddy used to write for the Chicago Flame (UIC's indy student newspaper) and he has a "site" that he writes for, which is more or less a blog. He's gotten press creds for Fire games, Bears' family nite at Soldier Field, a State Radio concert, a few Local H shows. |
