Post subject:  Mac and the future

With North seemingly gone at the Score and Teddy chiming Mac is being wooed by the Score for a comeback there and Mac dismissing that.... I was wondering what the future holds? Mac was waxing poetically about his future and giving Harry some subtle hints the other day that nothing lasts forever and he could either beat or replace Mike and Mike in the mornings one day.

In order to beat Mike and Mike in the ratings Mac would have to go up against them which leads me to believe Teddy has a little bird signing in his ear. I'm sure Mac has a lid tight deal but I don't know when his deal is up.

I enjoy what he has built at 1000 and hope he would not bolt back to the Score but if someone is going to give him 1.5. million or higher I will be the guy to drive him there.

Fill us in Mcfish.

When does your chauffeur contract with Slapshot Ed expire?

When his learner's permit expires. Believe it or not, you need a CDL to drive those short yellow busses

As soon as Joe Tiller wins a Big Ten title. Which means a lifetime.

Certainly you should have the inclination to do that. That is most assuredly how my chauffeur, George Koehler, got the job. Just showed up one day at the airport when I got in from Carolina. So, quite naturally, I kept George around for years.

That man could drive. You know who couldn't drive? CHARLES!!  You tell him that!!  You tell Charles!!  Couldn't go left!!

I think Mac still has one or two years left on his contract with ESPN, so he isn't going anywhere for a while.

A good singing voice is a prerequisite for an agent.

I believe Mac is under contract for another couple of years.

Bad things happen when the Cubs dominate the White Sox though... hopefully he won't be suspended for the month of July again.

Hell... two years from now tertestical radio may go the way of the Edsel.

Depending how smart his agent is he could have an out clause or wording that states that he can TALK with anyone in his last year at ESPN.

I'd assume so, too, unless there was some breaking of terms when they suspended him for a few weeks last time around. E.g., they broke some union rule and there's verbiage in the contract about said such being just cause to break the contract.

All pure speculation, of course. What I actually know about the situation is a mighty thin book, or a mighty thin page...

I don't think "Mac" is going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, why would he or any of the other "bartenders" at the "Last Neighborhood Corner Tavern" want to leave the most popular afternoon radio show among men in the city? They've got a really good show going. Why would anyone want to leave?

For the paper? For starters. Maybe the need to satisfy an internal need to conquer another challenge.

Well late in the show yesterday the boys brought up North and his demise and Mac continued to pound his chest about mornings and the money it will take to woo him to do that time slot. And a who you crappin out to my buddy for suggesting he would take a job in New York for a sports radio gig. You'd last about a week in NY.

A guy with 2 years left on his deal seems to be putting the feelers out that he has a price tag and it sounds like a call for people to come and window shop to me.

I agreee... and it was a well-played move on his part.

I also agree that he'd last about all of 2 days in NYC. Mac just simply wouldn't appeal to New Yorkers unless he pulled a Hillary and suddenly became a Yankee fan.

We all have that. It's called the first amendment

Don't go all Harvey Wells again Mac and talk your way out of your current deal.

Let time take care of itself here, please.

Not contractually speaking.
