We have a song parody contest that we have been promoting and I really could use your help...time to get creative. The prize is really sweet! ESPN 1000 and Live Nation are offering one Mac, Jurko & Harry listener the opportunity of a lifetime: A spot in the Live Nation's Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp". Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp" gives music lovers a chance to play with the "band." A spot in the camp gives you the opportunity to meet, jam, rehearse and perform live on stage with celebrated legends they idolize and adore. For example, Gilby Clarke (Guns 'n Roses), Elliot Easton (The Cars), Earl Slick (David Bowie/John Lennon), Dave Ellefson (Megadeth bassist), Gleen Hughes (Deep Purple), Mark Slaughter (Slaughter), Chris Slade (AC/DC), Mark Hudson (Aerosmith writer/producer), Kip Winger (winger) and more. All you have to do is record a :30 song about the Afternoon Saloon and e-mail it to macjurkoharry@espnradio1000.com. The "Afternoon Saloon" will listen to the entries and choose the best one for their show! The winner will have their song played live and win a spot in the Live Nation Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp". Here are the rules: Song must be maximum of 30 seconds Song must say "The Afternoon Saloon" in it Mac Jurko and Harry will select winner Song must be from one of the artists/bands that are associated with Fantasy Camp (Guns 'n' Roses, The Cars, David Bowie, John Lennon, Megadeth, Deep Purple, Slaughter, AC/DC, Aerosmith, or Winger Song must be submitted by July 22nd at 6pm Good luck! |

Are these just songs that were written by the aforementioned? Because there's a number of David Bowie songs that he wrote but were not made famous by him. A couple of which I've been tinkering with. |

alright, this should be about 30 seconds... Mac saw sparks fly, from the corner of Jurk's eye When Harry turned, it was love at first sight. He said please excuse me, Is Mac your name? Oh it'd be a shame if you shoved me again. And just when Harry thought...Jurk was comin' to Mac's door Of the Afternoon Saloon, flipped his hat to the floor, Tiny said.. (N'ah) you guys are totally mean (totally mean), I'll show Cubbie love...like you've never seen, Drinkin tequila till 3...(until 3) fatha says I'm too young, but he gave my first drink....yeah yeah! |

Well done, Doug. Any "show" acknowledging Winger loses any and all credibility... unless it only includes Dave Ellefson his ass. |
