“I want to thank ESPN for 12 great years of talking football on TV and the radio. I have grown as much as I can at ESPN and decided to expand my horizons. I have created a brand and it’s time to expand into other opportunities in TV, radio, Internet, publishing, movies and public speaking, among others".

"I'm a free agent," he said. "I've been liberated. I knew this was coming, but I couldn't be happier. "I'd grown tired of being punished for not being an NFL superstar. Analysts who don't work as hard as me, don't prepare as hard as me, and don't have my resume were making more than me just because of their ability to throw or catch a football. "Don't get me wrong, I appreciated the opportunity ESPN gave me, but they had capped my ceiling. There was only so far I could go there. "I'd done nothing wrong, and if you hear otherwise, it's not true. I did everything that was asked of me."

Let's see here...Beef took the considerable time required to photoshop several pics of Sean Salisbury and now he has invented a bunch of quotes and tried to make it seem like Salisbury actually said them?

And your purpose in creating this fiction is what again?

I can only deduce a few things about you Beef: 1) You are more than a little obsessed with Sean Salisbury; 2) Your penchant for manufacturing photos is bad enough, but inventing quotes and then trying to make it appear someone actually said them makes anyone and everyone a bit less safer with you around; and 3) Your widget business is obviously in a recession that you have so much time on your hands to create new identities, photos and quotes.

Dude, you definitely missed your calling. With your penchant for making stuff up, you should either be writing screen plays or running for elective office.

Those are actual Salisbury quotes. I remember those being posted after he got fired. It was from an AP story or some other publication.

Here is a link to a web site with the quotes Beef posted. He said it Coast.

Coast to Coast, the graphics and quotes were all found via google...

Only the first quote was part of Salisbury's statement. The second quote was stuff attributed to him in various blogs. Can you show me a legitimate media outlet that published this (and not someone on a blog or message board?) I'm sorry my standards are a bit different than yours, but "somebody said it on a message board" does not make it true. SHow me where Salisbury ever said this, please (and not some link to a blog):

The line between "legitimate media" and blogs is much hazier than I'm guessing you would want to admit, Coast. Since most info of this type is done through blogs and most major papers, Tribune, LA Times have blogs as well. Also, if you think any legitimate media is going to report on Sean Salisbury than you hold him in higher regard than most.

A quick look shows this link...

http://www.fanhouse.com/2008/02/27/sean-salisbury-on-leaving-espn-i-couldnt-be-happier-espn/

...which references the earlier link as sourced through the LA Times. I would guess that these things were said.

In any case, my search also revealed the following picture which I will forever be grateful for Coast...so thanks...

I did. Actually, I had not really seen her since the glorious Rose Bowl season of the Illini gridders last year. It was a welcome surprise.

It was a welcome break from the nonstop excitement of pitch, take, pitch, take, pitch, foul, pitch, take, pitch, take, pitch, home run, pitch, take, pitch, take, Milton Bradley nutty theatrics, pitch, take, pitch, home run, pitch, take, pitch, take, David Ortiz grab for attention, pitch, take, and so on...

I don't know who did it, but I did not. It has to have been there for a little while.

In order to save it for future generations, in case it gets fixed.

In the fall of 2006, Salisbury was suspended by ESPN for one week, allegedly for indecent exposure. A column[85] in the New York Post by Phil Mushnick on January 19, 2007 confirmed the suspension. According to the allegations, Salisbury took a picture of his penis with a cell phone and showed it to many women who worked at the station, including John Clayton, who enjoyed the pictures. Mike Tirico claims that as Salisbury was leaving the ESPN facilities in Bristol, Salisbury gave him a pressed fruit bowl, pressing the penis against the car window. Tirico was later fined and ridiculed by others at the network for looking.[86]

Dr. Ken, the lines are blurred, but I will accept something as credible because it was written by a journalist and published in the LA Times. I had not seen that quote anywhere but on message boards, and we all know you cannot believe some so-called "quotes" you read on message boards.

I stand corrected Beef Rockmore about my suspicion about those quotes. I apologye. Please don't let me deter you from your obsession with Sean Salisbury. You obviously have a special place in your heart (if not your shorts) for the guy.

No prob Coast - I was just wondering what happened to the guy, that's all.

He should have a gig by NOW.

The skin of the pig gets shot out of the JUGGS Machine next week, and Seany Cake is nowhere to be seen or heard.

He's hosting lame Super Bowl parties that knowbody shows up to. Look at the goofs, beside me who show up to these things.

These embrassing photos were taken at Sean's party the night before the Superbowl in Glendale.

Looking for Sean Salisbury? Last week he was in New Orleans at the Manning Passing Academy, teaching kids to play QB.

Coast, why all the love for Salisbury? Did he help you pull out an "UNDER" when he played in the NFL?

Post subject:  Re: Whatever happened to this MJH whippin' boy?

I don't have ANY love for Salisbury. He's irrelevant to me. I just don't get making fun of people after they've mercifully gone away...especially somebody as bad as he was.
