Mac, please, for the love of all things holy and sacred, tell me you were kidding about the worries that the power of Ted Nugent's rocking would bring down the roof of the Horizon/Arena. And actually, the opening band for the building was Fleetwood Mac. And by the way, greatest event ever was held here. Wrestlemania 2. |

The place blows to see live shows and the sound sucks. Give me the UC anyday to see a live show in the Chicago venues. Button 48 but I've seen AC/DC, Rush, U2 , Van Halen (Roth's VH) , Chlil Peppers, INXS, REM and The Cure at the All State/ Rozemizen and the sounds was less than Quality for each of the shows. The old Chicago stadium was the best place to see a live show as we saw Pearl Jam years ago and my ears still hurt . |

I nearly grabbed him through the radio and slapped him in the teats. |

The best actual concert I attended there was Paula Abdul back in 1991. I was about 12 at the time and she threw me a rose that I caught. That rose sat around my house for the better part of the next 10 years as a stick in a little test tube bottle. |

Actually, the wife/then girlfriend accidently threw it away. Dude, do you realize how hot she was to a 12 year old up close? |

Was Irons still in the old barn when the wrecking ball hit? |

To be Jim Derevolting for a second and a huge button 48 "Were Happy for ya" but when we met Vedder over the Summer we asked about Jack and he said that Jack was Bi-Polar and they didn't know it for a while which explains him leaving and being a bit of a whack job. Having been a guy who suffers from anxiety and bouts of panic attacks and a bit of a whack job myself I can understand his struggles. PJ 's best days are behind them in my eye's and like Mackey, I hang my hat on the old bands but the older I get the more it seems rock is dead. My girls listen to B-96 and the wife went and saw Madonna the other night and we both agreed that our concert going days are about to come to end. U2 will be about the only band I will go see next time they come thru. |

Irons was a terrible drummer live, but good in the studio. I knew he had some mental issues, but I've also heard he has carpal tunnel pretty bad, which would explain why his drums sounded like crap on some nights. |

I haven't seen too many concerts due to the outrageous ticket price many bands charge, but my brother & I saw Metallica at the Horizon about 1996 or 1997. It was so loud & a rockin' good time, that my ears rang for about 3 days afterwards. That was before I knew about earplugs, but I had a blast! The band really stretched out its stage, and covered practically three-quarters of the floor where the AHL Wolves play hockey. As for the United Center, the knock on the home of the Bulls & Blackhawks is the sound system for non-sporting events when the building first opened in 1994. I read somewhere that the sound system for concerts isn't real good... |

Do u find it hard to hide the fact that you're gay? Best event there for me, Queensryche in the early 90's performing Operation: Mindcrime from start to finish. |

Working there for over 10 years I got to see alot of good shows. The sound is only good for certain types of music/concerts, and how the stage is set up. I saw George strait there 4 times, and he did a theatre in the round setting all the times and that did not take away from the sound, less stage more area for the sound to move and dissapate and not have to bounce off of a small area and sound crappy. If you ever took a physics of sound class you would understand. Now I got to see KISS there as well but the sound was crappy because the stage took up about 40% of the arena, the show was good though and the couple of nights they were there i got to see the shows for free and dress up as Peter criss one night, and then paul stanley the other nights |

Best concert for me at Allstate was REM on the Monster tour. I was on the floor and that concert was rocking from beginning to end. I do prefer the UC nowadays. |

the key to allstate is to have the green smooshy earlplugs, just slightly in your ears so the reverb goes away....the vox and the music are then clear as a whistle. |

He was being syndicated on Sunday nights for some time. Hard drive was actually really good when I had listened to it, they covered a good variety of music. I only wish that the radio stations here in Chicago would have stuff like this during regular hours. |
