There's been GREAT moves since the SB too.
I thought the franchising of Briggs was an outstanding move by Angelo.
I'm fairly happy with the draft in 2008 too, Forte seems like the goods and Williams, well, not so much lately (I think he was in on that goal line form  ) but he shows promise.

Resigning Orton and NOT drafting Brian Brohm was good too.

Cutting Dan Byzine!

I am not an Angelo basher in anyway. Often been the defender, especially to those who dont get the whole theory that if you have Cap money left in any given year, you spend it with a bonus to a guy so it is not applied against the next years cap.

This offseason will see some drastic cuts. Prince Ogunlaye, Nate Vascher, Hunter, Dusty "IR" Dvoraceck, Mike Brown, Booker, Davis, Lloyd.

I see some help from Free agents, like another DE or CB, but the Offense surge will need a top draft pick to help.

Forte is looking like the best move thus far, (he doesn't own a boat in Texas does he?)

Actually, with the lose of Todd Johnson, Ayenbadejo and the like on Special Teams, this is turning out to be a decent move. Wolfe will be nothing special on offense, but has turned into a very cover guy on kickoffs and punts. Though, he still would have been available in later rounds.

Great moves since the Super Bowl...There are three in my opinion. (1) The ridiculous firing of defensive coordinator Ron Rivera, when he was a hot commodity for an NFL head coaching job. (2) The dumb Bear trade of Thomas Jones to the New York Jets. (3) GM Jerry Angelo's consistent failure to properly draft impact players, especially on offense! Cedric Benson? Mark Bradley? Rex Grossman? As Cubs' radio voice Pat Hughes might say, "So many players...so many flops!"

The Good
- Forte
- Not going for Derrick Anderson last season (I was wrong on that).
- Giving KO a chance this year.
- How the whole Briggs situation played out.
- Getting rid of Benson

The Bad
- The massive delcine in Vashers skills this year
- A decade without a true #1 (Bookers one year was a fluke)
- Losing Chris Harris
- Fans who cried for Lovie to have a contract extension right after the SB.

The Ugly
- The over paying of Gould (Highest paid kicker of all time???)
- The re-upping of Urlarcher contract while his skills have diminished
- Lovie's lack of adjustments & clock management.
- Lovie killing our playoff chances on 4th and goal IN THE 2ND Q, WTF!
- Bob Babich's pass defense or lack there of.

The Average
- Olson? He's no Witten.
- Hester, "Show me the money".
- Wolfe, yay he makes tackles on special teams.
- Both O & D lines
- Hunter "I give 5 yard cushion on goalline plays" Hillenmeyer
- Turner, better then Shaye & Shoope.

Don't give too much credit to the Forte pick. Choosing a running back at any point in the first few rounds was an almost no lose decision. I cannot think of a bust in the group.

True.

Still of the rookie crop Forte looks to be the best all round back.

Chris Johnson doesn't appeal to you? 4.2 looks real good, all around.

Chris Johnson, Matt Forte, Kevin Smith, Steve Slaton, Darren Mc Fadden, Felix Jones hell even guys like Tashard Choice and Patrick Hillis are showing skills. This year was a bumper crop.

Johnathan Stewart, though he's dropped off since DeAngelo realized his job might be in jeopardy....
