Post subject: | Trent Dilfer Interview |
Caught this at a B&B break on my way to the gym. He was pretty hard on Cutler. He had said that Kyle Orton was a better "football player" than Cutler. That Cutler might have more talent but doesn't know what to do with it. In some way he does have a point. Orton is smarter with the football; but I do think that Cutler is putting too much pressure on himself and trying to make too many things happen when they're not there. He looks shell shocked sometimes and his confidence has to be shot right now. He was really hard on the interceptions, and Jurko interrupted, "How many of your interceptions were your fault?" and he said, "Not all of them; but a lot of them were." I was glad to see Jurko jump in like that, created a nice back and forth and at least there was a bit of challenge from the hosts. I liked the interview. Dilfer is decent. He didn't say the guy was a bust or anything, he just didn't buy into the hype. This idea that, "Hey you give Cutler some help we'll be in the playoffs next year, we'll be in the Super Bowl" is ridiculous though. This year has proven there are holes everywhere. And you're not going to fix it in one year. |

It's irrelevant how good Dilfer was imho. How effective was Bill Cowher as an NFL player? WTF does he know about football?? Chuck Noll? Tom Landry? Jimmy Johnson? They don't strike me as very good football players. WTF would they know about judging a good football player? Matter of fact, I believe I have more NFL talent floating in my sack than Bill Walsh ever had. |

He must have looked pretty funny running around with a fedora on. I hereby invoke the "SILVY RULE" - it was before my time. ....oh and for what it's worth - Dilfer did come off as a d-bag. |
