About 2:50...missed the start of it but it was something along the lines that Harry has had 2 friends in his life that he does not speak with anymore. Then Mac got brought up and Carmen said they were never friends anyways...Harry then told a story of how Mac told him in a meeting they were friends and Mac was thankful for the jearsey Harry got him with his name on it. Harry went on to say that he has tried to reach out to Mac a few times and never got a response.

I know this is different then most of board members thoughts but possibly is Harry not as big of a douce than appeared to be? Mac has said numerous times that he makes rash decisions and then may change his thought after taking some time to think about it. Harry as a radio personality is not entertaining in my opinion but as a real life person maybe he is not as bad of a guy.

In "real life", Harry is not a good guy.

Just my personal experience.

Harry buys shots for listeners and sticks around, but it's hard to determine if he does it because he's a geniune nice guy or if he wants to garner listeners and friends.

The time that I talked to Harry after Mac left The Saloon, he did seem rather bummed and hurt about it.
I think that Mac just got really sick of Harry and/or maybe jealous of the way he was brought up with silver spoon in mouth and a priveliged kid. Could be wrong, but that's the impression that I get.

I would tell you that if the situation arose, both in the room at a bar, a summit would be arrnaged quickly over a chilled vodka shot.

So both claim to have made the attempts to "reach out" to the other. Short arms, I guess...

knowing both of them, I would say that neither would count it out if the chance presented itself, however, neither is making a special trip for the summit as well. No real purpose and as a listener, who wants it? Too much love on the airways anyways.

Isn't this supposed to be in the WHO GIVES A FUCK forum?

I used to hang out with a lot of former coworkers - when you change employers, it pretty much ends...

You go from friendly coworkers - to acquaintances, or in some cases competitors.

Ironically, last evening I am emailing with an ex coworker, who claimed he was hanging out with Harry at his bro inlaws house? Of course he thought it was Carm, so who knows if it was true, but no real reason for him to lie.

That's the truth.

We all have friends at work. These are relationships that we all know are built around the shared experiences of the workplace. Even if we go out occasionally after work, we all know the relationship is built on the workplace.

Harry is a different kind of person. He is DESPERATE for love (funny that fatha has serious daddy issues) so he attempts to make every relationship he has, much more important than it really is. He thinks it bonds him closer to others. In reality, it just devalues the few strong relationships he (like any of us) have in life.

If everyone is superman, no one is superman Harry.

I had the unfortunate experience of hearing saloon post game yesterday. There was another example of Harry overvaluing a work relationship between him and Silverman.

Slivy wrote something about that on Facebook

What happened?

I think the opposite. He has never had to work for anything and does not know how to. I've said before he is vacuous but he is not a bad person. He thinks of himself as a glad hander and as long as everybody is happy or smiling he is okay with that. Hey come on sit down have a drink let's chat okay good to see ya is about the extent of his social interactions. I'd agree that he doesn't seem to have strong relationships but I think he doesn't know how to or want to put the work that goes into them.

I don't know what happened either, but I did see on the Saloon website that Silvy was coming in and see if Silvy and Harry clear the air. My guess is Harry said something that Silvy disagreed with or they were supposed to go out together and at the last minute plans changed.

I have seen Harry at remotes a number of times and he's always been friendly and wanted to talk. Never gave me the impression that he was "too cool for the room" or phony. I don't know why this feud between Mac and Harry exists and I'm guessing it will be reconciled at some point. I wonder if Harry isn't doing it just to create a bit of controversy. Maybe he/the station feel it is interesting or entertaining to listeners. Seems a bit awkward/uncomfortable to me. Just move on already and leave it behind. Reminding listeners that Mac is no longer a part of the show, is not really a good thing.

Yea, I'm sure it makes both of them to PTFB

Serious question: why the fuck would anyone listen to this show?

Just to expand on that, let's consider that you want to listen to sports radio on your ride home from work. Here are my choices:

1) Satellite radio - ESPN News - not bad, but too national for my taste
2) Satellite radio - various MLB games... rather be sodomized sideways with a chainsaw
3) Satellite radio - Paul Finebaum show - unintentional comedy is off the charts, but unless you are simply a Alabama or Auburn fan, it gets really old
4) 670 the Score - I truly believe I get more jaded on life with every minute I listen to Boers and Bernstein. The negativity eminating from those radio waves are bound to make you slit your wrists on the way home. But I have to admit, Boers knows his stuff
5) ESPN 1000 Afternoon Saloon - Bubblegum? Yes. Too caught up in their own inside jokes? Yes. Skimming topics at too high of a level for my tastes? Yes. But I feel like do get some local flavor without wanting to kick my dog when I get home. I do, however, miss Mac. You don't know what you've lost until its gone. Cue violins, please.

Because if you want to listen to sports radio during the time it's on the air, it beats the hell out of the crap on the Score (B&B).

I must have missed your response previously. You seem to really dislike B&B. You've mentioned multiple times about how you dislike them. However, from the time that Dan McNeil left ESPN 1000 I heard you call B&B no less than 5 times and it probably was more than that since I'm not listening all the time and you may not have always gotten on the air.

Why would you call a show you dislike so much or did something change?

Other than your racial biases, Harry and yourself have a lot in common.

Harry is not a decent guy in person. He is always looking past you. I still wonder who he has naked pictures of to keep his job for so long. He sucks.
