The 5th annual Fantasy Football Convention will take place on August 27th (starts at 10:00am) at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana. The location is the same as last year. Actually, after having the Convention at 4 different locations (Chicago, Lombard, Oakbrook and Hammond) this will be the first time the location is the same. I have my ticket already and anxiously await this always fun event. For more info about the guest speakers (Mike Ditka, Matthew Berry, John Clayton, Stephania Bell amongst others) and other details, visit the ESPN am1000 site.

If you didn't win last year, and you win about 50% of the leagues you play in, is it a lock that you take home the trophy this year?

Practically a lock  . I really think this could be a difficult year. I can easily see more injuries than usual, which makes waiver claims even more important than ever. Also, there may be a couple key holdouts (Chris Johnson) and where they go in a FF draft should be interesting. With no OTA's and rookies not so much as having looked at a playbook, even fewer rookies will be likely to make meaningful contributions.

Steve,

Are you sharing a room with Harry, or will you each get your own and determine where you're going after you play "mysterious stranger" in the hotel bar?

I actually went to a Star Trek convention last year, and this seems 100 times gayer than that nerdfest.

If I was gonna sneak off with someone from the convention it would be Stephania Bell. Her face is just relatively attractive but she has a SMOKIN hot bod. But I do enjoy seeing Harry and I'm sure I will speak with him there, as well as John Clayton and Matthew Berry. berry is a unique guy. He LOVES fantasy sports and made over 11 million selling his fantasy site to ESPN. He's more than willing to talk at length with people attending the convention and is a really pleasant guy. If you have never been to one of these and enjoy fantasy football-give it a try. It's a fun day.

I'm assuming he needed to sell his site just so he could move out of his parents' basement.

Because I have gotten several PM's asking for details, I will post them here for all....if you plan on attending the convention I suggest getting to the Hollywood Casino in Hammond, Indiana between 9-9:30. Then you will have time to get checked in and get a seat prior to the speakers starting at 10am. They break at noon for an hour for lunch, with the drafting starting at 1pm. Expect to be there till about 3pm. Each 10 person table has a girl that posts each pick on a draft board and the 2 teams from each league qualify for the overall playoff race over the final 3 weeks of the season. the team with the top record and the team with the highest overall point total on the year (first 14 weeks) advance. If the team with the best record also has the highest point total, the team with the next highest point total advances. Also, as of last season, they no longer hand out the ESPN fantasy football magazine as part of the gift package. However, they do supply the ESPN cheat sheet in the package. I believe they were still giving out highlight markers as of last year, but you might want to bring one of those too just in case they discontinue giving those out.

You'll be driving around Northwest Indiana for a long time looking for the Hollywood Casino.

I think Hollywood Casino is now located in Maywood.

Thats an awful photo of her. She's not resturant quality, but she is a pretty attractive gal who is well put together. frank-you can just shut the hell up. For you a step up would be any broad that is desperate enough to want to be with you, that you wouldn't catch giving a blow job to another dude...like your old girlfriend did.
