You guys are wearing me out with this. Coast to Coast's post in the Featured Artist Friday thread sums this up pretty well. And Bertram has explained the criteria. If you think I like all the music we play, you're dead wrong. I think Tom Petty music is as sissified as it gets and somebody actually suggested I played that for me. The next album I buy produced by that whiny, colossal pussy will be the first. And we HAVE played a bunch of the bands some of you have suggested: Wilco, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Chili Peppers, etc. We also have played music "for the brothas." We just don't play rap or hip-hop. If I had a dime for every erroneous post or false accusation posted regarding the music we play, I could buy every Led Zeppelin album ever produced. Wait... I already have every album LZ produced. And I much prefer listening to any track on any of them if it means avoiding the discussion of Featured Artist Friday. |

Well, again, I request Tool. If you aren't already familiar with them, I'm sure you'd recognize several of their songs simply due the the fact that they're commonly used as beds on your station. A rock guy should love it. Hey Macky, check out their cover of "No Quarter" (off the CD "Salival"); one of the better covers out there. |

Mac, PLAY WHATEVER YOU WANT. IT'S YOUR DAMN SHOW You're going all A-Rod about this. Next time I turn the dial cause I don't like your musical bed will be the first. That said, The Refreshements "Bandidos" chorus should be used as the Jurko vs. Harry theme anytime Matt (10/12) is one of the contestants. |

Not only do I object to the classification of Petty as sissified, I strenously object to it.... In all fairness Mac, since you have taken opinions expressed here and incorporated them into the show, it is only natural for us to continue with suggestions. Take them, don't take them, that's up to you. But with the exception of Jim DeRevolting, it would be impossible for you to hear all the bands that are out there (especially considering your stated preferences, you naturally exclude a lot), and if someone hears one, why not suggest it? So you say no - we move on to hearing Angie again. No harm, no foul if you ask me. And by the way, on the list of topics that get beaten around here, I will agree that this one is getting up there. OG still is number 1 though, and it will take YEARS before Featured Artist Friday catches up. |

When you going to play the Fricken "Stones" (who haven't done shit in years) every other week , expect to be taken to the woodshed by the music fans on this board. Your most loyal fans (this board) have spoken , it's time to change the criteria then .. BEARSSSSSSSSSSSSS.. |

Mac- you are QUICKING becoming the Harry Teinowitz of music. The next time I hear (or read) you spew your opinions I'm going to think about the 15 ft birdie putt I rolled in yesterday or that ground ball to Juan Uribe last year. I'll regain focus when my head stops hurting and my ears stop bleeding. |

I dont take objection to Macs classification of Petty as a sissy. Not only because i am a massive pussy, but some of the best musicians of all time have been sissies. Petty, Paul Simon, Freddy Mercury, Joey Ramone, Kurt Cobain. |

Speaking of Sheryl Crowe, I'm gonna take a stab at posting a pic (it hasn't worked for me yet). She is apparently touring with Jon Mayer and they play pranks on each other. He had come out during her set to sing a duet in a full bear costume. The next night, she came out during his set dressed like this: |

Is there a sports show anywhere so consumed by what it thinks about itself? MJH talk sports please. We have a thread this long about several seconds of AM quality sound music played while dissolving into 8 to 10 minute commercial breaks. Download this junk people and listen to it on quality speakers in it's entirity. I wanted to hear about the Miami brawl; Mac ofcourse abstains and says we heard it and refuses to play a controversial audio tape of an announcer calling the moment who went to far in his call. He says it was heard numerous times already on the Patrick show. Hey...it's 4pm and I worked since 6am and I did not hear it. Thanks for that Mac...click. So boys how about next Fridays music drops for the stupid? |

Choke on it, douchebag. Most people are passionate about music, what's it to you? The Miami-FIU brawl was shown on ESPN news about 6000 times. They have this clown's commentary posted on the website, a la fucking carte with analysis by Dan Patrick, Mike & Mike, and even The Playmaker Michael Irvin: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2628184 Anything else beaten to death that you need an update on? Happen to catch the Bears game last night? I'm pretty sure they won, but I hope the non-sports banter between MJH this afternoon doesn't delay the news reaching your thick skull. |

I disagree with Tom Pretty being a sissy lol, he is just good classic rock n roll, but the guys do a great job appeasing everybody except B96 Lovers with the music on fridays. Fuck Rap and Hip Hop anyway. |

Stinkfinger The Crow wrote: FavreFan86 wrote: Fuck Rap and Hip Hop anyway. I sense a... Not at all. I just cant stand that type of rap. Run DMC and a very select few others I like, but I reall cant stand "gangsta rap" I value lyrics alot and as far as that goes, not only does it not add value to the music, it detracts from it. I love Ray Charles, Michael Franti, the Roots, Jimi Hendrix, and many others, just no respect for artists that decide to use those kind of lyrics in their music. Non gangsta Rap and Hip Hop is listenable, but still not my preferred music |
