Mac,

Your teammate is having a meltdown and it's the funniest thing I've ever heard.. Something about people are accusing him of using the term "J-E-W" as to reffering to Peyton Mannings drive as nickle and diming his way down the field.

He just went off and ON A 5 MINUTE TANGENT in where Rosy had to real him in and then they cut to commerical....

This guy is not long for radio here in Chicago .He just can not take any heat from anyone ..You have to replay this it's great radio.

sounded like j-e-w to me, but i dont really know if thats what he meant to say. I actually think if people are ripping him on that they probably need to back off. He's an easy target so thats why this happened. The fact Sean addressed this on his show is going to make it a big deal now. He should have ignore dit like his phone picture incident.

Salisbury is his own worst enemy. If he ever would admit he was wrong without qualifying his mistakes, then people like myself wouldn't jump at everyone opportunity to pound on him when he slips up.

j.e.w comment + dick in a phone = firing. This should be easy for ESPN now. He's a combination of Pee Wee Herman and Mel Gibson.

We have cataloged the times uncle rico has been a mushmouth on this site. It is very easy to believe he was just being a mushmouth in this situation. Small brain+too many words= a scentence that looks like a car pile up.

Well, we now know he didn't show that picture of his dick to the jewish girls.

True or not true. Does ESPN need this? Do they need a meat head, below average, ex quarterback screaming into a camera? Hell no. There are 100 nice guy, below average QB's they could get. He's gone. The phone incident is all they need any way.

I love how Salisbury said "my sisters married to a black guy". Alot of people use these similar defenses. I don't know how that absolves you from being a racist because your sister is married to a black guy. Just by making that statement makes me wonder.

I'll cut Shawn some slack on the comment( I've said dumb things, just read my posts) but it's how you react to people when being criticized.... I just happen to flip on 1000 and the guy sounds like he's in tears and he's ripping the papers , reporters, fans, his teammates about "WHAT HE SAID" .....

I think Shawn needs to learn he's in the media and things you say bring heat. The guy is on 24/7 wheather on T.V. , radio, commericals or what ever but his skin should be a lot thicker than what it seems to be . To be honest I'm sick of seeing hearing the guy. He's done nothing in his NFL day's to warrent the air time the guy gets.I have never heard anything out of the guy that would make me think he is an expert at anything but ESPN seems to think so . Oh well.

If there is only ONE thing we have learned from the Sean Salisbury Experience (and that there is even one surprises me), isn't it that this ass-clown can't handle dissenting opinions or challenges to him? Does it really surprise anyone who has listened to him for longer than a week that he can't handle being challenged on anything? Come on guys. This defense of his is no different than when you say he was wrong about something and have statistics to prove it. Honestly, the necessity for three threads for his response? He's a blowhard, they all yell when they feel they have been directly challenged. Combine that with Sean's abrasive and ignorant personality, and I don't see why all the posting on it.

I don't think I would of made an issue out of it say about a week ago but when the fued between MJH and Shawn came out last week it shed some light that this guy can't play nice with others in the sand box. He also seems to be unravaling of late which makes for great fodder.

It's like slowing down at an accident Mus, you want too see what happened but hoping everyone is all right but expecting to see the worst.

Not often people have meltdowns in the public and your partner has to talk you in from the ledge. On this board that's news.

Here we are, listening to him and talking about him. Maybe this is why he's still here? Haters listen to the commercials between his nincompoopery too.

Call me naive but how is the term "J3w it" offensive? Is it because he followed it up with "nickel and dime it"?

How does one "J3w it" anyway? Establish yourself as a lawyer?

Rico's problem is his inability to let it go. I trip over words everyday and I speak a lot less than Rico. This dope will get tossed from Chicago for being a crap local radio host not some misspeak in trying to fit 100 words into 10.

To "J3w" someone in football means to rip them apart. It stems from Shylock, the loan shark in the "Merchant of Venice" who would take "A pound of flesh" from those who owned him money. Our friend Dan Jiggetts can probably back this up. The phrase got it start among the Ivy League football teams in the mid-70's, died in the 90's and resurfaced in NFL circles a few years ago. I've never heard it used on national TV.

Then why is salisbury denying what he said? That would seem like a logical reason to say it.

I enjoyed a couple of things about the meltdown today:

1) He made fun of bloggers.

His sidekick is a blogger

2) He said that he's glad that ProFootballTalk.com and DeadSpin.com continue to criticize him, because now he can do interviews at the Super Bowl for $10,000... ( )

He just gave both websites free publicity, and how many interviews is Harold Reynolds doing for $10,000 ????

Also, not that there was much 'beef' to the press conference, but shouldn't Mr. Football have been carrying the press conference conducted by Jerry Angelo live today, since:

a) He's 'Mr. Football' and

b) It's in flippin' Chicago and

c) The Bears are a Super Bowl team

I tried to like listening to Sean Salisbury, but he's really unlistenable, and he's NEVER wrong, and he's rarely in Chicago. Don't bother signing my year book Seany Cakes, and I hope you have a bitchin' career....... elsewhere.

Hath not Sean Salisbury eyes? Hath not Sean Salisbury hands, organs
dimensions, senses, affections, passions; fed with
the same food, hurt with the same weapons, subject
to the same diseases, heal'd by the same means,
warm'd and cool'd by the same winter and summer
as Dan McNeil is? If you prick Sean Salisbury, does he not bleed?
If you tickle Sean Salisbury, does he not laugh? If you poison Sean Salisbury,
does he not die? And if you wrong Sean Salisbury, shall he not revenge?[/i]

I've never heard that. I thought he had just misspoke, but if that's true then I would have to say that what he said could be deemed offensive and it probably was not a mistake.

Deny everything, Admit nothing, make counter-accusations.

It's in the playbook. And he is afterall a quarterback.
