Media, fans flummoxed by Bears’ quiet class By Ted Cox TV/Radio critic Posted Friday, January 26, 2007 The media are missing a great story on the Bears, but who can blame them? A big part of the story is how lousy they’ve done their jobs, and who wants to draw attention to that? As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, I believe the Bears got caught in a media maelstrom this season brought on by newspapers, TV and radio stations all fighting for circulation and ratings. The media are running scared now — print and radio more than television — and to build audience the level of discourse declined as the volume of the hectoring and self-promotion increased. This is the era of “American Idol,†|

I didn't think a professional writer would use mollycoddling twice in the same story. |

Jurko and Mac won't back down. That's fine. But remember Jurko's comments about Rex being a "mental midget" in training camp and through out the season. Mac said here that because Rex had rich parents he couldn't handle disapointment and he was a pussy. Jeez Mac. Your kids come from a rich daddy. I guess you're putting that tag on them too. Those are things of which they should say "hey I was wrong." But they won't. |

I said nothing of the kind. I was just making an inference from Mac's statement. I'm sure Mrs. and Mr. Grossman wouldn't like Mac saying that of their kid. The fact is nobody knows how anybody's kids were brought up. Not even Mac. Nobody knows anybodys disapointments and how they handle it either. |

He really takes Salis-bloom to task more than MJH. ...and he stops short of calling Tiny a 'blind homer' by saying 'tempered by Harry Teinowitz'. It's nice to see “Nuke†|

we can question rex's play on the field til the cows come home. but one thing we cannot question is the kids mental toughness. sure he said some stupid things about not preparing, talking to the media, etc, but with all the BS that res has been fed from the media this season, it wouldnt have surprised me in the least if he went all ryan leaf on somebody at halas hall. |

I thought this was wrong too: History has proved both wrong I always thought it was 'has, had or have proven' |
