yeah but as we all know the second anyone on talk radio says they are tired of talking or hearing about something it does nothing but come up more and more....rex,85 bears, tank johnson just to name a few lol.

I just have a feeling that whenever the topic of courage or bravery comes up in any aspect of sports or life harry will throw in the barbaro card over and over.

most humans aren't worth the time really.

I mean if your gonna force the animal into the starting gates most of its adult life then make a ton of money off of it, seems to me you might want to try and save its life given whats its done for you.

But then again Im not your typical prick of a human being that would force any living thing to do something for my enjoyment or money making potential.

As we speak, young men and women are dying fighting a war; I'm supposed to be worried about the relative "happiness" level race horses have compared to horses in the wild? Please.

And.. for the record.. Barbaro never saw his "adult" life. Horses should live between 20-30 years and the Kentucky Derby runs horses that are 3 years old. Barbaro was still a young horse.

How many points would it count for? 96? (100-4) or is there some fancy measure of horse years to people years?

I find it humorous that horse racing fans are upset with the rest of us for not caring about Barbaro's death. We're not the ones smacking it upside the head with a whip. We're not the ones poking and prodding and branding. We're not the ones forcing these animals to compete in races.

All we're doing is saying, "Who cares?". None of us were outwardly rooting for the thing to die (for the most part). We just don't have time to be sad for it. There's way too much other stuff to worry about without having to grieve for a race horse.

My night will not be affected one bit by the loss of Barbaro.

I'm a horse racing fan, but I'm not at all moved by the event. I was more moved by the actual event at the Preakness than this end. If he was any other race horse in the country outside of probably the top 10 colts or fillies in the world, he would have been glue that night. Sounds rough, but it's a fact of the sport.

The actual event shook me up quite a bit since it was sudden and there was nothing 'wrong' with the horse going into the race. Anytime you see a horse's leg dangle in a funny way, you know what the end will be - a needle.

Barbaro's dead? Uhmmmm. Really. I hadn't heard.

Oh, yeah. I guess I did read it as the TOP story on CNN.com most of the day. CNN.com - that's right. It's only the world leader in news, you know. I also think I received it from CNN.com as a "Breaking News" e-mail. The entire world awaits the most important news to be broken and that horse going down tops it. Thank God that let me know.

It was pathetic when I tuned into SportsCenter and they had a picture of Alpo with the dates of his life. If anyone ever said that show had credibility, it went out the window with that.

This entire story dragged on much longer than it should have. Great, they are trying to save the horse. Call me when he is out prancing or dirt surfing. Either way, I don't need updates on his surgical schedule from Bob Picosi.

Actually, I found the story of trying to save him interesting. As John Q. Public who doesn't give a rats ass about horse racing, I learned a bit about why they euthenize horses with what sounds simple - a broken leg. I also learned about the problems that could arise.

That being said, the death of a horse should not be the top story on CNN. I will spend more time grieving an unknown and unreported civilian killed in Iraq than I will Barbaro.

By the way, will Allen Brothers now be carying Barbaro Flank Steaks?
