From today's Chicago Tribune:
Bulls' Allen likely on front line to start trip
Team will need him to play big in L.A. if Wallace is absent
No time is a good time for the Bulls to play without Ben Wallace.
But losing the four-time Defensive Player of the Year at the start of a seven-game trip against a big and crafty Clippers front line would qualify as a really bad time.
As usual, coach Scott Skiles wouldn't reveal his starting lineup if Wallace, who didn't practice Tuesday, doesn't play—which seems likely.
But 6-foot-10-inch Malik Allen worked at power forward with the first unit alongside 6-11 P.J. Brown, who shifted to center. That's an indication of how Skiles plans to counteract the size of 7-foot Chris Kaman and 6-8 Elton Brand, who always is among the league leaders in points in the paint and offensive rebounds.
At least that's the likely plan initially.
