Not sure if I get the connection to me...unless the implication is that ANYBODY who posts on this site "has a paper route." If that's the case, tough to dispute Northy on that one. I "deliver the news" to 80,000 subscribers of the NWI Times every Friday, not to mention all the hits my column gets on their website (nwitimes.com) or on ours at the station. From the "We're Happy For Ya" file... my first of three or four paper routes was with the Lansing Sun Journal, a Thursday/Saturday rag, in the winter and spring of '71/'72. Before wrapping the Saturday issue, I would peruse some guy named Terry Boers for his account of what happened the previous evening in prep basketball. How's that for foreshadowing? I was in 5th grade! |

North has to do something to drum up ratings. Isn't his three year gig just about up? "Paper Boy" may be a reference to 'only kids post on message boards'. Pappy used to write articles for some little read newspaper in Chicago also. I don't see why North would be going out of his way to criticize Mac - I thought they had patched things up. Perhaps it's Teddy Greenstein's column today, which would be admission of a mistake by somebody: http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com ... me-utility North's popularity was never higher than when he was paired with the ying to his yang, Dan Jiggets. |
