Members on this board have taken it on the chin recently. Just looking at the past week, CSFMB posters have been called creepy, moronic rats who slander talk show hosts with their mob mentality. While at the same time being pussies, afraid of their shadow who need to grow a pair.

That being said, no one is suggesting that CSFMB board posters are stupid. In fact, much of the dialog in the past week regarding NBA trades, legal technicaities, Ron Rivera, Scottie Pippen, real estate, HD TV, Mike North, Marin Scorsese and the state of Chicago Sports Radio has been nothing short of well thought out, intelligent, lucid points and counter points.

The same, however, can not be said of your typical reader of the Nortwest Indiana Times. In responding to the most recent Dan McNeil colum which suggests Gordon would be the Bulls best bet to be traded for Gasol, Antonne, a NWI Times "reader", offered the following brilliance on their website:

"I DONT THINK GORDON SHOULD GO TO A WEAK TEAM LIKE THE GRIZZLES.HE IS BETTER ON THE BULLS ;HE EVEN SAID IT HIMSELF.IF HE SENDS GORDON TO THAT TEAM HE WILL BE A ONE MAN TEAM.BOTH OF THEM HAVE ABOUT THE SAME PPG% PERCENTAGE. SO KEEP GORDON AND THEY MIGHT MAKE IT TO A PLAYOFF ROUND JUST LIKE LAST YEAR."

Really? He said so himself?

Short of Ike South, I don't think we have a single member of this board that would ever be capable penning such an observation.

Yes, CSFMB posters may be idiots; but their not IDIOTS.

Funny . It sounds like to me that at least 50% of us have a piece of paper that say's we attended a college for 4 years or attended High School for that amount of time. I would assume that we all make above minium wage and hold jobs . I would also assume we have some mode of transportation or own a car?

If that makes us all IDIOTS , than guilty as charged. I will not apoligize for having a computer. 8)

The quote is so funny, I'm compelled to break it down:

Quote:
I DONT THINK GORDON SHOULD GO TO A WEAK TEAM LIKE THE GRIZZLES.

While your entitled to your opinion, what difference does it make to the Bulls whether he goes to a weak team or a playoff team? Who cares?

Quote:
HE IS BETTER ON THE BULLS ;HE EVEN SAID IT HIMSELF.

He said that he is better on the Bulls? As opposed to what . . . Conneticut? He's only played for one NBA team.

Quote:
IF HE SENDS GORDON TO THAT TEAM HE WILL BE A ONE MAN TEAM.

I assume you're referring to John Paxon, and again, WHO CARES what the impact is to the Grizzlies??

Quote:
BOTH OF THEM HAVE ABOUT THE SAME PPG% PERCENTAGE.

Since when are Points Per Game expressed as a percentage. In any event, the fact that Gordon and Gasol average about the same number of points per game is completely irrelevant. Where they get their points from and the effect each has on the other four guys on the court is the issue.

Quote:
SO KEEP GORDON AND THEY MIGHT MAKE IT TO A PLAYOFF ROUND JUST LIKE LAST YEAR.

. . .and lose in Round 1 like the past two years. Somehow, I think Pax is trying to do a little bit better than maybe making it to "a playoff round".

Actually, I wish we had more Ike South type posters. I love a good laugh every now and then.

does the % and the percentage cancel each other out?

Had a similar thought Doug.. but in my head, I'm trying to find the relation... expressing acceleration as x meters per second per second makes sense to me.

What would that make a percent of a percent?

an really.. this guy is talking about points per game percentage percentage..ohh.. head hurts..

That idiot does not know what he's talking about. I actually went to a Memphis game when I was in Memphis (the double overtime thriller against portland...I know you are happy for me) and I thought that Gasol was rather ungood (joke). He doesn't really play D nor does he rebound.
Not to mention when he showed up on the jumbotron pleading for the people to get up and excited he sounded rather dorky (rather high pitch squeal...very annoying).
HOWEVER, there were a few chicks from spain (chicas? I took french) in my section that were highly entertaining. NBA groupies...they're fantastic!

But, if Gordon does get traded, if it makes the bulls better...WHO CARES?

hmmm....

if you carry the two....and divide by zero.....
:!:

maybe the first % is (the Players Points Per Game/Points in the game by Players Team) and the second pecentage is (the total points scored by both teams)

so:

PPG% percentage = {[(PPPG / PPT) / (TP)]}

i think it would be a really small number. with the decimals and stuff....or %.
:?

make sure to divide by the derivative of pi in order to get % percentage
