I hope they talk about Tazering Greenie for the rest of the tournament. That bit didn't get old after the first 30 seconds.

I like Murph's show more than I do this one. What does that tell you.

That you need to be tasered, apparently

tasering was funny back on howard's show. now it's old.

Not really. Golic is just brutal in my eyes. Today he was all over the map on the Briggs situation. Pick a lane, Mike, and stick with it.

Has Greenie been talking about his "sheets of integrity?"

yeah...that came up a little after 7, spmack....

Scott, they need to work in the "thomas jones, Ed too tall jones, marty jones, mike jones" guy into the tazer bit somehow, no? and then have Wakeen sing a song about it.

And then perhaps get Bill Curry's old school opinion on the tazer.

I was going to post this and forgot to this morning. If these are the teases and content that Justin Craig finds entertaining then we really do have the ESPNification of this station coming. It sounds like the MJH crew is being re-taught how to do an interview (which by the way I'll take one of theirs over Mike and Mike's any day of the week). I do feel like these shows are getting somewhat of a make over on their style...much like their co-worker's shows in Bristol. It'll be a real shame if Justin Craig takes the last neighborhood corner tavern out of MJH. I think he's made some good moves, but stuff like Greenie with those"great" teases and bits like this make me puke thinking we could be getting something like this in the future and bombarded with our interviews the entire day.

I'm not sure if they've discussed this or not, but is Golic's kid possibly going to Notre Dame?

Does anyone else feel Greenie would have made a better prom queen than prom king?

I seem to remember something about that, but I'm not sure if it was before or after any of the 1 sheet vs 20 sheets debates.

Who is Greenie's favorite player on the Jets again? I can't remember, but they play this really funny Whitney houston song every time the guy gets mentioned. That's one of the best bits going on radio for the past 6 years or so.

Man. I really wish they would play some ABBA.

It's obvious we all listen but would prefer to listen to something else. If The Score got their shit together (as in scrap what they have completely right now) in the morning I think they'd own the morning slot in the city against Mik and Mike.

I don't listen, I generally watch on The Deuce while on the treadmill.

This is the problem with this show. It is just too contrived, too redundant. I don't know if its the Mouse or if its how they want to broadcast, but the whole formulaic approach to radio is what is irritating. The stereotypes of metrosexual and ex-jock, the repeating of dialogue nearly verbatim since your listener is constantly changing, and the yearly "bits" that are beyond stale, all of this is why I don't like this show. The only reason I listen is because I have no other sports radio option - North is TERRIBLE. Is this what ESPN wants? To be the lesser of two evils? If its happy with that, then fine, keep it up. But as soon as I find a better option, I'm gone. I know a number of people who have already left, and many others like me who will.

If you look at the ESPN radio affiliates, most of the towns are smaller to mid-market size. (Terre Haute, Ft. Wayne, Kearney, Nebraska, etc.) Chances are there is no competition in the sports talk category, so they dumb it down like a lot of syndicated morning shows (Bob & Tom for example). Another case of trying to be everything to everyone. They don't really have to try hard to impress big markets like Chicago when they can be the only game in town in a lot of smaller markets.

Totally nailed it on the head Scholar. That's what was I trying to get at.

And once again I agree. I really don't think The Score would have to do much either.

How about this scenario? Get yourself an former Chicago athlete (Mark Grace, that'd be something) and throw in a Matt Abbattacola and someone else like a DeFalco who could fill more of the Fred Huebner role and you got a show that'd already be better than Mike and Mike.

If you absolutely have to have an athlete on the air...which I don't think is necessary...does it have to be an abrasive, jack off like Mark Grace?

too "safe" as well.

Dan Patrick is also gravely guilty of repeating himself, and he has less of an excuse. These two guys are on before the crack of dawn. Patrick's on throughout the early afternoon.

White Sox fan?

I think he would work well as a radio show co-host....

Have you heard any of his work as the color guy for the Diamondbacks? BAD! And it has nothing to do with being a White Sox fan; stop painting with such a narrow brush. There's been plenty of ex-Cub players that would work well in broadcasting/radio.

Ha, yea Sleuth. I was just throwing it out there. Wasn't supposed to be an uppercut at you, just a little jab. I have heard and have enjoyed him. He always is a great guest on shows. Apparently I haven't heard enough.

I think Grace would be good as a regular guest, but I can't see him taking it seriously enough to do it full time.
