It really seems to me that any time any topic is brought up which refers to the fans or the fans perspective, etc Golic immediately dismisses any possible relevance and gives a big ole . Today, it was Greenie saying that he doesn't begrudge athletes their big-time money because he knows how hard they work for it. He went on to say that as someone who wishes he could have been a professional athlete, it really ticks him off when he hears about someone using steroids to make it into the pros. Golic responded with (paraphrased) 'Why should that bother you? It should bother ME. I'M a professional athlete.' Maybe I'm making too much of this, but I hear it too often and it bothers me that it seems like he believes that we, as fans, aren't allowed to have opinions or be passionate because we never played the game. |

I would agree. It seems sometimes he isn't even a fan. Just becuase he played 1 sport doesn't mean he loses all perspective of being a fan of any sport. |

That's his schtick. "I don't understand because I've never been a fan of any team because I played." The two aren't mutually exclusive, meathead. |
