My son woke me up at 4am this morning and I couldn't go back to sleep. I've avoided all things ESPN once I heard about A-Rod. But, at 5am, I just had to see. So, I flipped on Mike & Mike on TV and got this gem from Eric Ka-silly-ass -

It's not often that one man or one story takes over ESPN and it goes into full hunker-down mode...

I believe it was just last Fall you guys had a FAVRE SECTION on your scrolling ticker! Clemens ring a bell? :roll:

I had to rewind it a few times to make sure he actually said that. :lol: :lol: With apologies to North, but, are you kiddin' me? He even broke out a "A-Rod is completely dominating what we are talking about today" a little later on.

My favorite was Golic saying, "We'll be taking emails a little later and we'll be letting you know what kind of answers we're looking for". :lol: That sums up ESPN for me.

One thing about ESPN, their ability to be completely predictable never disappoints.

it really is that annoying when ESPN clones *state* how much they're overblowing a story, and then continue to talk about it. tirico does it all the time, and so does SVP.

"i wish we didn't have to spend all day talking about this, I'm sure there are other things to talk about in the world of sports but...next segment we'll have peter gammons on and he'll give his perspective on a-rod, followed by buster olney who will be talking baseball, and we'll ask his opinion on this matter as well."

The funniest thing about his "this is completely dominating what we are talking about today" was that he said that 10 minutes into the show! It was 5:15 in the morning!

The day hasn't even started yet and you are telling me what has dominated it.

Its not just ESPN, Mully & Hanley were talking anything and everything ARod/Steriods as well.

I'm not bothering with sports radio today. Unless they are going to talk Illini basketball or Daytona, I can't think of a topic they could possibly discuss that would interest me. They won't be talking about that.

The few topics I heard, Pro Bowl, first NFL game is 6 months from today, ARod don't interest me.

Last night Freddie what his name kept saying the American Public was SANITIZED to the steroid scandal. Not de sensitized but SANITIZED

Said it before a break...then again after the break (apparently I was the only one in the country that heard it...not his producer obviously)

Then he said it a third time when interviewing some douche bag baseball writer and still no correction


It was Cringe worthy

Although they did talk about it - as they should - they moved on to the Bulls Stoudemire story for the majority of the show. :D
