Since Greenberg has been on vacation I've been listening to Mike and Mike a bit for the last week or so. The last couple of days Mike Golic, Jr. has been part of the show. I know that children of successful media personalities have a leg up on getting into the business, and that's fine, but aside from Joan Rivers I can't think of someone who has had their kid on their show with them. It seems so blatantly nepotism-y. In the parts I heard, he sounded fine. It was just kind of surprising. I would have expected him to be on a different show. |

Mike and Mike can basically do whatever they want because for some reason, a lot of people listen to this show no matter what. |

Yeah they're the sports radio version of McDonalds. I legit cringe when someone I don't know starts a convo with "did you hear Mike & Mike this morning?" Generally, that conversation at some point will also include the phrase "Come on, Man!" Definitely a type. |

Otherwise it's a series of lame bits, "wacky" stunts, and guests whose nicknames make them sound like the goddamn Mousketeers (which I suppose is fitting). Most of their guests expert analysis consists of saying that "[Star Player] needs to play well for them to win." and "Turnovers will be important." Thanks for the insight. I do like Cris Carter, though. I didn't realize that Butch Carter is his older brother. |
