I know at the end of the year these are the type of guys you can say "he will give you X HRs' Y RBIs and .2XX Avg!

But the fact they can have a few games in which they drive in 6 runs, hit 2 HR's and you win 13-2, who cares?

Do the stats take into account all the games these teams lose in April and May when these alleged "Professionals " bat .175!!!

Maybe managers really need to work these guys in slower, play them less to start the season?

I think this is all PED fallout. Guys will get old now instead of raking until they are 40. The Pena's and Vernon Well's and Carlos Lee's of the world are all deflated juicers that are also getting old.

with NO HR's will get a whole new other kind of booing. for about 9.7 million less,we could have kept The Hoff for probably better production.

When the Sox signed Dunn I laughed. He has the power numbers at the end of the year, but the rest of his game is just bad. The Sox bat him 3rd? He is not a #3 hitter. He should be no higher than 6th in anyones lineup. So glad the Cubs didn't end up with this joke. Yeah, I know Pena has been brutal, but at least hes gone after this year. Sox have Dunn for a few more years, and it wont get any better, just worse as he gets older.

Dunn is a great hitter and his OPB would suggest that batting him 6th is waaaaay too low.

The real issue with "ALL these types of guys is that everyone knows they start slow. They say they start slow, would batting them 6th or 7th further delay achieving these career numbers?

How about just when you see them hitting they get back to batting 3rd, or 4th and just stop with these inevitable crappy starts.

This .500 type start so far by the Cubs is one of the best I can remember. Even years when they went to the playoffs, they had bad starts and we had to wait for guys to warm up?
