Does anyone honestly think that Lil' Tommy McCaskey has the stones to bring in actual intelligent baseball people to right this ship? Or he is just going to let Jim Hendry/Wilkens etc. run this club even further into the ground because he's financially unable to clean house. Or is he and just won't do it?

I can't believe how wrong I was about this guy. I don't know what it's going to take for him to start acting like an owner who gives a shit about more than troughs and bison burgers.

Season ticket holders, chime in. You're the ones paying the big bucks.

I know Hendry is feeling the pressure, the guy sits in his office listening to Mac and Spiegs rip on him. lol

Funny thing is Abbatacola seems to be more impressed with Tom Ricketts than his father is.

Yeah,I heard him defending "Crickets-(The Sound you will be soon hearing in Wrigley) on the radio today. Hendry is in Arizona helping with the draft. What total bullshit. His team is sinking and he hides,it really makes me sick. I have not seen this much of a mess since the days of Andy MacFail.

This situation is far worse because Cricketts is up to his ass in debt and revenues are on a rapid decline. And IMO he lacks he balls to clean house. The only hope is the team loses 100+ games and becomes the laughingstock of baseball forcing his hand. And it is highly ikely they lose 100+ games with Quade leading them into the abyss...

Hey,Blake DeWitt is up to .292,so that's something. Along with Fuks leading off (.310) and the two youngsters up the middle batting around .300 all year,Let's also not forget Byrd coming back, the Cubs have an impressive array of WHAT?

Punch & Judy hitters,that's what. Only one Cubs starter has a .SLG % above .425 & that's Soriano (.525).

If Joe (the brains of the operation) & Tom (the dope of the operation) Rickett's could turn back the hands of time, they wouldn't buy the Cubs again knowing what they know now. They thought this would be a cant lose no brainier of a business. Oops!

I predicted doom & gloom for the Cubs under Ricketts from day one, but things are even worse that anyone thought they might be.

once again ur getting away from the core problem: Bully Hendry

Ricketts intends to clean house...he just needs the big contracts to expire...or for July 31 to approach...relax

Hendry put him in this bind...Ricketts intends to go young

Where are these talented home grown players of which you speak so highly ? Pissed away with no return. You could not teach a sick kid to puke in a paper bag.

They are in a diffcult position. It's good that they got so far behind in the division so quickly, so as to avoid the uncertainty of whether or not they might still have a decent chance at making a run at the division. That means they can go ahead and try to trade veterans for promising prospects and rebuild. The only problem with that, is nobody (but Zambrano) is a highly paid veteran you might like to trade, that is playing well enough to generate interest. At the end of the season they can dump about 40 million in salary. But it sure would be nice to get something for these guys before the deadline, to build for the future. Fukudome might bring a minor prospect from the right team. But despite his decent BA, his power numbers suck. Plus, teams know that his history has always been that he produces diminishing returns in the 2nd half of the year. Zambrano is probably the only guy that might bring a good prospect in return. Yes-he has a no-trade clause, but in light of recent developments, I think he would agree to a deal with the Yankees or Red Sox. Castro, Soto and Soto are about the only guys right now that seem like pieces of the puzzle. Barney has been a nice surprise, but it's too early to draw any real conclusions about him. I'm hoping that Colvin gets back to 2010-like production, now that he's playing everyday again. But it hasn't looked real promising so far.

Joe "Tea Party" Ricketts is on record before the Cubs purchase as saying "Win or Lose the place is always full". He thought it was a gold mine filled with idiot Cubbie fan nuggets.
Congratulations to Cub Fans for finally growing up and demanding a PRODUCT.....not a Disney story...and telling Ricketts to go pound sand.
The price of the Cubs tickets is second to Boston's.
The Cubs are full of shit....lower your ticket prices, Assholes.

Because I am far more concerned with a family that wants to attend a game than I am with the obscene amount of money these asshole players make.
