It's from Bruce Levine so needs to be taken with a bucket of salt. What's concerning to me that if this is indeed true, I don't want Hendry to be in charge. If he is going to be replaced at the end of this season, why trust him to do this? Makes me nervous

Hendry isn't going anywhere unless he dies in office

Any talk of moving Soriano is completely fictional. The Cubs would probably have to eat about 75% of that deal for him to be gone, and that just ain't going to happen.

Hendry meeting with scouts next week, like he does every July before trading deadline. Nothing new, just the business of baseball.

I can actually see Dumpster being traded, Phil. I don't see this team competing for a couple of years/decades anyway, so if they can get a prospect or two they should consider it. I just don't like the idea of Hendry making trades anymore. I really feel that he needs to go.

I wouldn't mind trading Dumpster at all. I just don't think the organization will do it because he is a good clubhouse guy and has a bunch of chairty events yadda yadda. Plus his contract still has a few years left on it so the Cubs would have to eat some money to do it and Ricketts is poor.

I thought I heard A-Ram has a no trade clause and he wasn't going to waive it.

I had remembered hearing that as well. But I predict we see a long drawn out McGriff or Lee situation where its like I wont waive it I wont waive it and then they are playing in front of 14,000 at Wrigley in the end of July and its like well OK I will waive it. If that bully bastard Hendry even talks about resigning Ramirez I am going to be sad.

I keep reading confilicting reports about his $16M option for next year being guaranteed if he's traded. If it is guaranteed then obviously there is no way he gets traded.

I think Marshall is the guy that brings back the most in a trade. He doesn't make a lot of money and any contender would love to have him coming out of their bullpen late in a game.

Aram is pretty washed up anyways. He wouldn't return anything of use. His spot should be sitting next to his best buddy pal Quade....but he will play 3rd and bat 4th everyday.

16 mil option is guaranteed if traded. If not, it is a 2 mil buyout for next year.

ARam could waive the vesting option on a trade if he wants to go to a contender for the last couple months. Maybe he gets the buyout sweetened a little. Everybody has to realize that the 16 mil option is never going to be picked up. But does anyone think that dog cares about playing for a winner?

I have zero confidence in Hendry's ability to get anything done to help the team. This organization is sinking fast. The only hope is if McRicketts has to sell which I don't see happening for 10+ years. I hate to be so pessimistic but I call it as I see it.

Has he ever gotten anything decent in return on trades that are not him shopping another teams fire sale? I think Dewitt is all he has to show for the trades of Lee, Theriot, Gorz and Lilly. Good work Jim. I think the only prospect he has ever traded for that has shown any ability is Archer from Cleveland in the Derosa deal.....and he isn't doing shit in AA right now. I guess guab and stevens put in a few terrible big league innings too. Other GM's seem to be proficient and sending him back a bunch of shit for the players he trades.

I'm thinking Fuk and Byrd get moved. And then Z or Dempster, but not both. The starting OF by Sept 1, if not Aug 1, is Soriano-Jackson-Colvin.

Would like to see ARam and backups moved and see them bring up Flaherty from AA to play 3B. See an infield of Barney, Castro, Flaherty with LaMahieu playing backup. Or teach Flaherty or LaMaheiu to play RF.

Lee,Gorz,Theriot and Lilly are all shit players. I didn't expect much from those trades. He holds onto players too long, losing the value they once had for making impact trades.

Mike Fontenot for Evan Crawford has a shot at being a decent trade.
