The fact that he's still employed makes the Cubs look bush league by cracky

To call a kid out for making the ultimate 'oh well' kind of error is embarrassing and should be the absolute final nail in Quade's coffin. He's clearly lost it.

I admit when I'm wrong but when Ricketts took over, the CSFMB fell into two camps. Those who wanted him to clean house as soon as possible (me) and those who wanted him to (or defended him) wait before he made a decision. Let those folks come forward now and admit their error.

My position remains the same. This off season will determine my opinion on Ricketts

Calling the young guys is not going to earn him any respect. Its easy to pick on Barney and Castro. To be honest, that popup yesterday warranted a swift kick in the ass.

But there have been many other things that have as well- ARam's laziness (jogging out of the box, etc), Soriano's bad defense, Dempster getting lit up once again. At least he finally took Marmol out of the closers spot for now. Pena has made some errors, but he has also saved probably another 10 or 12 more (at least) from Castro alone so I would give him a pass.

Its clear Quade is in way over his head. But when you are 20 games below .500, the manager is only a small part of the problem. This is a crap roster with only a few brightspots, and the pitching from the Cubs all the way down thru the minors appears to be just terrible. If it wasn't, guys like Lopez and Davis wouldn't have been signed.

And yes, there have been injuries. Hendry, Rickets, Quade, they are always the first to tell you that. The Cardinals have lost Pujols and Holliday at some point this season. The Pirates (the fucking Pittsburgh Pirates, who are in FIRST PLACE) have had 9 (NINE) guys from their Opening Day roster on the DL at some point this season. That said, the injury excuse from those 3 guys is just them trying to buy their own jobs or some sort of grace with the fans.

The Sox have sure struggled this season but at least you knew with 'All In' that they were going for it. It hasn't worked out, but at least you knew what the plan was. The Cubs appear to have derailed months ago and there is no plan whatsoever to get them back on the track.

Maybe I'll need to watch the play again, but I don't even think that. It appeared the ball was just lost in the sun. Shit happens sort of an error.

Rest of your post is pretty good though and agree with most.

Balls will get lost in the sun, that happens. At that point, Castro needs to yell that he's lost it so maybe somebody else can make the play. I can't tell if 'Cassie" did that or not.

An aside, that should not, in any way shape or form, be a hit. Hawk is right. There needs to be a team error when a popup falls in like that.

If Quade wants to bitch about Castro, the day before on an attempted steal,Soto made a perfect throw to 2nd,Castro positioned himself in FRONT of the runner. He had his glove in FRONT of the slide. You should be taught in little league to have the glove in position where the runner slides into it. The extra movement to catch the ball and bring it back into the runner, usually gets the guy called safe, which is what happened.

Also, the other day Marlon Byrd made a PERFECT throw to 2B on a single, and somehow Castro was positioned/turned the wrong way and didn't see the ball coming. The ball passed right behind him, allowing the runner to take second. The error was charged to Byrd -- Brenly commented that it was really a tough error to give to Byrd, but the scorer's hands were tied.

Zambrano said something along the lines of "I want to stay but there must be change"

Here's a couple paragraphs that prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Quade has no control of this club...

Sun Times, Wittenmyer wrote:
MILWAUKEE — The Cubs opened their 10-game road trip short two players, including setup man Kerry Wood, who remained in Chicago on Tuesday receiving IV fluids because of flu-like symptoms.

Wood, who participated in the six-hour Ron Santo charitable golf tournament Monday, also was unavailable to pitch Sunday because of ‘‘aches and pains,’’ manager Mike Quade said.

Wood showed up Tuesday for the Cubs’ bus ride to Milwaukee but ‘‘was puking his guts out really bad,’’ Quade said. ‘‘We’ll take a look at him [today].’’

Wood’s issues Sunday resulted from pitching the equivalent of four innings while warming up repeatedly in recent days without going into a game, Quade said. He last pitched Wednesday, the final inning of a 9-1 loss to Philadelphia

Wood was up warming long enough to qualify for 4 innings worth of work? That is crazy.
And did a charity event but couldn't play the next day because he was sore after 18 holes of golf and 4 innings of bullpen time?
Just sounds fucked up to me. certainly no urgency at all.

Even more!!!

Quote:
Meanwhile, outfielder Reed Johnson was still iffy with what seemed to be an issue with his chronic back problems. Quade said Johnson, who also sat out Sunday, was ‘‘a little stiff and sore’’ but sidestepped repeated queries about whether it was his back.

‘‘I didn’t ask,’’ Quade said

Oh ok. Yeah, don't ask about injuries to your players. Stuff like that ain't as important as how many flags you want to throw on the field. that's much more important.

This whole thing becomes a bigger joke on a daily basis.

And as far as Kerry Wood goes...he is a big fucking pussy. I'm done with him as a cub and frankly, I dont want his kind associated with the team moving forward. We have enough loser - hanger on's associated with this team, we dont need one more. I'm afraid Rickett's loves his type though will continue to trot out the loveable losers to the adorning fans for as long as he can to continue the Wrigley tradition. Losing!

God fucking damnit!!! :x :x :x
