I believe this is the last year on Marmol's contract. I don't see him being retained. The control of his pitches has never gotten developed as well as it should have and he's lost a bit on the fastball. Now, it would be even tougher to move his contract in a deal, so it seems he will be a part of the 2013 squad. As much as it would be a contract year, maybe he will step up and do well enough to cause another team to want to trade for him at the deadline and we can get a decent prospect for him at least.
