So, today the Cubs spring home field got a name, but not the park.

More important, I have heard some not so great reviews of the way the place is being run right now. Seems that some of the prices are just astounding for t shirts and concession stands are limited, which for a place that has like 9 fields and you need to walk blocks to see AA IF practice, it can become an issue.

My guy bitching about primary and heralded players working out on the main field and its not open for fans to view until 1 hr before game time.

"I feel like I moved into a new house and dont have any food or furniture"

While i assume the concessions, etc are probably a function of focusing on opening the park for the players, and just kind of ignoring fan concessions, the ability to open a field for fans to see the players they have been pre-marketing for 3 years now.

You would think that some reporter from some radio station might have a report of the new facility.

The guys I've heard from spring training said its amazing. Laurence said it's the best spring training park. Nothing from a fan perspective though.

I dont doubt it LOOKS great. More space than probably most. Probably great for players. Could go to a field and hit without anyone else there.

They have field being unused.

But if I cant see any of it and there is 1 concession area 1/2 mile away.

Just sounds like they just dont have it all done for the fans.

Anything screwed up under Ricketts doesn't surprise me.

he is there sitting with the fans and they are just bitching at him.

the guy I split tickets with, his dad is a long time first responder, to Spring training. he knows ricketts somewhat as they have 2 relatives playing in the majors right now.

he said, ricketts just sits out there and takes the shit.

At some point I have to give the guy credit for deflecting a ton of shit for the organization. I know its his organization, but I dont see any of the other siblings doing anything.

You'd think it would motivate him to stop sucking at everything he does.

Good. He should take the shit. He brought in on himself starting with the "we're not moving out of Wrigley" inaugural presser. Followed by the Kerry Wood signing.
