Why does baseball even need multiple uniforms? (let's please ignore the jersey sales revenue argument in this instance)

It makes sense for football, basketball, and hockey because players are moving all throughout the playing area, and you don't want to mistake an opponent for a teammate in the heat of the moment, and make a bad pass or play. But in baseball, you have none of that. Everyone could be wearing white or gray, and it wouldn't effect the game at all. Why did Baseball even start with the home and away uni's?

No sport needs unis really. I've played pick-up basketball for years and the only time anybody tried to require similar shirts was at CSFMB games. And conns couldn't even get that right.

The WNBA should play shirts and skins.

I really like the grey w/ "CHICAGO" on the front. The font appeals to me and the overall look is clean and minimalistic. 1984 were awful - Just hideous and looked like softball uniforms.

Yeah, but I like the traditional Cubs logo better than the walking bear they use now. I'd want them to use the 1984 uniform on a regular button-down shirt, of course.
