FYI, he flipped the nephew a ball on friday, coaching 3rd base for the Braves these days. He got one, I yelled HEY DOUG....pointed to the kid, he flips it to him...

Now? Has he not been smart in the past? I think he showed some uncharacteristic desperation. I assume part of it is due to the label that his teams don't get out of the first round of the playoffs.

It isn't really that. I didn't really care about Beane before he got a book and movie made about him. I just think it is hilarious that they made a movie about a guy for making the playoffs a lot. It then got made into a bigger deal than it was.

Alcantara hasn't hit a ball hard in like a week.

Also, the MLB Network Top 50 Prospects show last night...no one on the panel could pronounce Alcantara. Not even Callis.

This isn't some 16 year old kid newly signed out of the DR. You're supposed to be an expert on prospects. You should at least know their name.
