I really think you need to have one more year of tanking. Pitch these rookies with wood and arrieta. Bring up hitters in June.

Maybe you go all in with scherzer as he is still young. I don't know theos relationship with Lester. Wasn't he part of the chicken and beer during the game guys?

What makes you think Ricketts will spend money this (or any) off season?

i came into this thread looking for the prior towel throwing reference and you didn't let me down! thank you.

one thing i always remember about prior vs zambrano was that my grandparents got some christian faith newspaper that had a big interview with prior discussing his faith and rah rah rah. mark prior liked to talk ABOUT god. chuckles "dinner and a show" zambrano, on the other hand, liked to talk TO god, and i'd imagine him saying things like "WHAT THE FUCK THAT NOT STRIKE?!?! OK YOU MOTHERFUCKER IF THIS ONE NOT STRIKE I AM COME AND FIND YOU AFTER GAME AND YOU KNOW I CAN PAY PEOPLE TO DO IT"

also, unless he's out there with the newark bears or something, it sure seems like he's cool with his 80+mil and doesn't want to suffer the indignity of going through the desperation part of his career. maybe i'm wrong and he plowed through the cash buying rims and hiring people to find his enemies (cuz if carlos zambrano doesn't have enemies then i don't have hope) and he'll show up as a tampa bay ray in the next ~2yrs (...please?) but there's a decent chance that carlos fucks off for good. maybe he'll come back fat like vlad and break baylor's other leg throwing out a first pitch.

If he doesn't start spending at least some money this offseason, I think he is going to have a fan revolt on his hands.

You can see Z at the Score's upcoming charity softball game:

http://chicagoradioandmedia.com/news/67 ... arity-game

"Scheduled to be taking part for the Cubs All-Stars are: Billy Williams, Gary Matthews, Jr. (aka "Sarge"), Carlos Zambrano, Steve Trout, Lee Smith, Bill Madlock, Ryan Dempster, Jaque Jones, Corey Patterson, Cliff Floyd, Angel Guzman, Jon Lieber, Adam Greenberg, Jerome Walton, and Brian McRae."

What an awesome group of ex-players...what, were Milton Bradley and Todd Hundley unavailable?

Steve Trout is a weird son of a bitch.

Theo has made reference to some hidden slush fund built from coming in under budget the last few years that is entirely under his control
