The guy was pretty decent over the years, but too many game appearances wore him down.
I feel you should always be able to find a LHRP who gets out the lefty hitters. The Cubs still have Wright,Rusin and maybe Wada in that role.

In 2012 he was OK. Just OK. I hate when I see any player get the "he is good" because he had a good 2 week stretch at one point.

he had 4 years here with an ERA above 4.00 in 3 of them for a middle reliever who pitched 50 or 60 innings. It's not good.

I know he was a Lefty, but that doesnt mean shit to me.

I am glad he is gone, as I do think the guy worked on the hair more than the pitching! Last remaining guy in the good hair club is SHITTER!

For me, Russell will always be linked with Quade. I don't know if it was his or the front office's call, but man was it sad when he kept running Russell out there to start and then would talk about how it was the wrong decision and he shouldn't be starting.

Left-handed specialist James Russell will exit after once again failing to retire the only left-handed batter he faced.

He's better against right handed batters. The Dodgers will win the WS.

His stats were never terrible because he would come in and give up the inherited baserunners and then exit leaving someone else to do the job.
