Who makes the playoffs again after a rebuilding:

1) The Red Sox, who, under Cherrington had to have a fire sale to relieve themselves of Theo Epstien's poor fiscal management, or;

2) The Cubs, who Theo is now managing to pay for future production after hopefully learning from his mistakes.

I think an even more fun game would be to count the threads in the Cubs section and see how many of them are Sox fans trolling.

I am trolling but it is an interesting comparison. Valentine has called it the current Red Sox the worst collection of talent they have had. Each team sold off veteran talent for prospects. Each will have a high pick in the next draft. Each is at a floor right now. Each are regional teams with resources.

Not sure that's entirely accurate

It will be a while for both, but the Cubs don't play in the same division with the Yanks or Rays. Given that I say the Cubs.

The fuck? I am assuming you are at least 30 years old. The Cowboys won 3 Super Bowls in the 90's. That is "decent success?" If anything you have seen the best of the best from the Cowboys and decent success from the Cubs. You have seen The Cubs 5 division titles and a wild card berth. From 1946 to 1983, the Cubs had zero postseason games played.

The addition of extra PO teams started in 1984. If they were playing under the one team only concept,the Cubs would have two pennants by now.

Its goddam true :lol:

I wish I could call 3 Super Bowl titles in 4 years "decent success." But this isn't 1955 and I'm not a Yankees fan.

Didn't want to include the White Sox into this, huh? Already knew what was ahead?
