Not trying to rain on anyone's parade but some thought Mark Pryor with his perfect body and mechanics would eclipse every pitching record there was. One pitch can change everything.

Which is the basis for the argument that the cubs should let this season AND next season play out, before negotiating a long term deal for huge money. The risk of losing him to free agency becomes significant in that scenario, but it eliminates the risk of paying huge money to someone that could be damaged before that free agency period ever would have arrived. He seems like a guy worth betting on. A guy who will remain healthy and dominant. But as you say, so did Prior.
