While everyone want's to rip on Maddon,Francona replaces CoCo Crisp in the OF with little used Michael Martinez. Martinez ended up being the tribes Winning run and last hope.

It ended up as a game of attrition jimmy.

In the end, we still had some gas left in the tank while Cleveland was on empty. Our team depth is what won Game 7.

Amazing that Cleveland could not acquire a better guy for the end of the bench. Martinez makes Koyie Hill look like an all star hitter.

Look, I hate the Cubs, but over the past two years alone, when they've wanted something, they've gone out and got it done. (Chapman, Fowler, Lester....)

I remember the Indians having problems--and not only with Lucroy. They could not even get Kurt Suzuki or Geo Soto. Yeah, they got Miller (in a "not in our comfort zone" trade), but they didn't shore up their other weaknesses. The Cubs make it happen. I know they have the resources, but....

Still, from what I read, the Tribe put together their roster with trades from a few years ago....

I think they only had four hitters on the bench, right? That seems kind of silly when they never used Meritt the entire series.

Yeah, and Martinez could at least stand at 3B so that's probably why he was on the roster. Who knows, he may have also been the emergency catcher.

They did acquire Coco Crisp on August 31, so they were plugging away at the end. But I'm surprised they couldn't have pried an Andres Blanco or a Jeff Francoeur away from a bad team. Hell, the Marlins picked up Francoeur on 8/24 for a class A backup catcher, they'd have flipped him in a heartbeat.
