Nope. The Cubs are in a soft division, have some serious firepower this year, then only think that concerns me is their mysterious 5th starter. Can Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, and Fuckmedome outhit poor 5th starter? Most likely yes. This is the best I've felt seeing the Cubs go into Spring Training since 04, but you know how that year turned out.

Seeing spring training footage on the WGN news makes me warm and fuzzy on the inside.

The Cubs have all the tools. Now they just need the FIRE and the PASSION!

I don't want to be optimistic. Every year I tell myself not to be optimistic about this team, and yet in my heart I can't help but to feel that way. No matter how many times they fail us, I still think they have a chance.

Even after the Mets got Santana, I can't help but think that the Cubs really have a great shot this year. I think Fukudome will have a solid year in his first Major League season. Derek Lee will come around and get his power stroke back. And Ramirez, with that cock-fighting spirit, will continue to make strides this year. I also can't wait to see how the bullpen does. I'm very optimistic about Wood, Marmol and Howry. And as for El Toro, I think this is the year he becomes the Cy Young winner, gets 20+ wins, and is more consistant in a positive way.

But the thing that gets me most excited is the fact that the Cubs haven't won a World Series championship in 100 years. Every streak eventually has to come to an end. Look at what happened to the Patriots, 18-0 before they gave way and lost in the Super Bowl. I could see the Cubs in their 100th year of futility finally breaking the streak and being crowned champions.
