My Dear Internet Friends,
For months I have dreaded the day that Mark Prior would face the Cubs. For some reason, players scorned by the Chicago Baseball Club have been Cub killers on their new team. I am most relieved that this will not likely occur within this season.
However, this is a great opportunity to note that the troubles that young Mr. Prior has experienced have nothing to do with the Cubs organization. They are not cursed, the did not transfer said curse to Mr. Prior (or Mr. Wood for that matter). It turns out that Mark Prior is still sucky without the benefit of a curse to lay blame upon.

I wonder how many unsuspecting Padre fans out in San Diego, who haven't quite got this routine down yet, are actually thinking "hey, just two more weeks, no big deal."
