In 2015 you heard alot of talk about a potential dynasty for the Cubs. Sure we have been to the NLCS 3 of the last 4 years but we got swept in 2015, and lost in 5 games in 2017.

Clearly the CUBS are trending downwards. Bad trades and free agent singing have caused this along with players not playing to their potential

Darvish has not worked out, along with Marrow. The Quintana trade was not good. Letting La Stella go for practically nothing was head scratching. We have no CF (Albert isn't gonna cut it). Russel has not played as good as we thought he would, Schwarber is an enigma. Contreras is a horrible framer

Basically we have nothing

Theo bought into the hype of the prospects, which you should NEVER fall in love with your own players

I predict next year (2020) we don't make the playoffs and that starts the end of the era

Jesus christ shut up. They lost 2 against the Dodgers. Get over it. LA's the best team in the National League.

Now because of your stupid post, watch Darvish pitch a gem tonight.

Of course this Theo era will be looked on favorably because of the world series win. But digging deeper there are a lot of questions. Theo's draft picks other than Bryant haven't lived up to expectations. Mostly horrible free agent signings. Top prospects traded for a rent a player and Q. No waves of young talent that Theo promised. Highly flawed con man manager who literally didn't try to sweep regular season series. Even with the numerous blunders the current team is highly competitive and fun to follow. Makes you wonder what might of been with less blunders.

It was a good run though.

No, we have a World Series Championship after 108 years. Thats something.

But all the other things you mentioned are accurate.

The window still has a few years left. But this offseason the wallet was closed so theyre wasting away another year.

There can't be any dynasties because too many teams got too smart and rich at once. The Astros couldn't repeat, the Red Sox probably won't, and the Dodgers haven't even won a world championship yet.

I like the way you think.

Don't be such a stranger at this place.

We tried to tell you that winning one title is all that matters. Who cares if it takes another 30 years or so to get another? You got one. End of story.

2016

The Cubs will win one more World Series in the next 2-3 years and then Timmy Holton can kill himself.

Cubs have made the playoffs as many times this decade as the White Sox have in last 35 years.

They wont, but I hope he does.

Cub success coincided with 3/5 of the division openly tanking and a generally down NL. Sure they got to the NLCS but when finally getting to challenging teams in that round they are 5-10. Dynasty!
