So who the fuck on the radio said he was 6'5"? They must have started talking about Heyward and I didn't notice.

I'm starting to observe worse than ObserverYou.

suzuki attempting to steal bases is a roll of the dice for another injury. he's behind the bag and doesn't slide - he usually falls too late towards the base and his momentum will take him off the bag. he's clawing with that oven mitt to secure whatever hold of the base.

it does seem he is afraid of contact with whomever takes the throw from the catcher. i don't think he is afraid, i believe he may have had some success with this in japan. not working here.

I was not in favor of signing Suzuki. I felt like the money was too much for a guy unproven at the MLB level. For every Japanese player who becomes a legit star in MLB, there are several who fall short of expectations. That said, Suzuki strikes me as a pretty solid player. Not All Star level, but solid. He seems to have adjusted to MLB pitchers and as he gets to know more pitchers, he should only improve. I still would have preferred the same money be used on a top of the rotation starter, but Suzuki is no bust and should be better in 2023.

id like to see some improvement on his fielding. he takes some awkward routes on balls and has a knack for not getting the best jump on some he should be able to make a play on

Those numbers don't tell the whole story. He has been better the past 5-6 weeks. Yes, he had a rough time for a while, but he has most definitely turned things around.

He's out of the lineup today because he knocked up some woman. Hopefully it was his wife or fiancee.

Seiya Suzuki has an injured hand of some sort. He was out previously 40 days with a sprained finger. Could you imagine Pete Rose, Willie Mays, Ron Santo, Mike Schmidt out 40 days with a sprained finger. 3 max if that.
