There is no such thing as funbad for a real fan of the team. Bad is bad, and it's miserable to be bad.

Ding ding ding.

Losing a ball in the sun is one thing.Throwin it in the stands another. They will be fine. There will be a fight between themselves or another team that will wake these lethargic mo' fos (unless its D.Lee,he fights like a girl)

That was one hell of a pose by Bradley after he made that catch. If I knew how that would be my first avatar. What an asshat!

I wish I could even defend the guy... nope. I got nothing. MB is a nutter and he's pulled one over the Cubs brass.

49 days til Bears Camp Cub fans...

Neither of Chicago's baseball teams are going anyplace, so I'm all for 'fun bad'.

A Sox sweep or 2 of 3 at Wrigley next week, and the meatball Cub fans will be calling for Piniella's or Hendry's head(s) on a platter.

It's been downhill since the DeRosa trade for most Cub fans....

Meatball Sox fans have been demanding Williams' head for weeks now.
So what?
Either team could win their division and that's all you need... a ticket to the post season. While neither team has played worth a damn of late, both divisions remain within reach. I'm on record saying that the Cubs won't make the post season. That said, I hope like hell they make it.

I disagree. If this team is going to be bad, at least make it entertaining. Bradley is doing that job well. I would prefer fun-bad over bad-bad.

Really? I've not heard that at all. I've heard calls to fire Greg Walker, but not KW.

Division Titles, yippi. Even if by some stretch of luck one of these teams wins the Central, Neither is a World Series caliber team...not even close.

Aggravated Sox Fan Bob is their King. Ask him why he wants Williams' head on a platter. Were he my GM, I'd be a fair sight more tolerant. You haven't heard that at all because you haven't been listening. I said MEATBALL Sox fans. The smart ones keep shut of such talk.
That stretch of luck is one key componant to success in the post season. Both teams have warts, but if you get in, then you get to find out what will happen.
Again, the object of the exercise is to get into the post season where anything can happen. I can't explain it any simpler than that. If you don't get it, that's your problem.

And given your teams track record the last 2 Octobers, you all should be striving for more. This "get in and anything can happen" talk is a load of bullshit. The Sox are not a WS caliber team, so I'd rather them gear up for 2010, 11, 12, etc. But if you want to see your Cubbies win a 3rd straight division title just to see them lose 3 games in a row, that's your problem.

Because they've sucked the last two Octobers, they should just not try. Quit now and save the effort.
That makes sense.

Just because you've quit on the Sox, don't expect others to be as weak willed as you.

Its only the top of the 3rd but this team looks done. The Twins aren't that good, but the Cubs are really bad. Miles + Fontenot= bad lineup

Yesh. Anthony Swarzak is only 23 years old. He reminds me a lot of Yovani Gallardo. The Twins just keep churning these guys out.

This is brutal. Leadoff hitter batting below .240, nobody near 50 rbi's, and a lineup full of role players. This is another game that should have been a win, Harden gets fucked again.

Well Fukudome is done. He had a few at bats today that were huge and hit jack shit. His ab in the 9th was horrible. He is back to the cork screw swing. Another game that should be a win.

Why would you give up 1/3 of your remaining outs by sacrificing? Bad move by Lou.

This fucking team blows.
Who knew Ramirez would be so valuable. I thought they could fight through his absence, I guess not. They have wasted so many good outings, lately. They are going to be hard pressed to recover from losing so many games they should have won.
Hendry needs to back up the truck, but I would not trust him to get anything in return for these stiffs.

I said before the season started, this was a bad mix of players. Hendry is horseshit. These guys fucking blow.

I wonder if they might use Soriano as the DH in games played in American League parks and have Hoffpauir in left, rather than having Hoffpauir or Fox (if they bring him back from AAA) as the DH for those games???

Also, why the hell did they have to bring this Pansy Aaron Miles back off the DL??? He is the most pathetic steaming pile of crap I have seen in pinstripes for years. He should be sent home (waived) so that Fox could continue to play at the major league level. The guy was 5-6 as a pinch hitter and was hitting over .400 overall. Maybe his defense was weak, but right now, this team can't score runs. They need guys who can hit as well. Miles sucks. If the new ownership (Ricketts) decides to axe Hendry, after the changes/decisions he made this past off-season, I think I could understand why. Bradley over Ibanez/Abreau, Trading DeRosa and replacing him with Miles. The 2009 bullpen, not getting a deal done for Roberts, but chasing after Peavy all spring.....

Still plenty of time. It's early (in the century)! 101 years or 105 years, what's the frickin difference at this point!

Steve, you just perfectly summed up the Cubs situation. I'm not sure I had the foresight in the offseason to see this coming but it's really easy to see it now. Sure it's a monday morning qb thing but who cares.

While I just typed that Miles just grounded out for the 478th time this season. WHY DO THEY CONTINUE TO PUT HIM IN THE FRICKIN LINEUP!!!???
