I know he is having some family issues, but when you hear him discuss it he welcomes the time to play because it is the only time he does not think about it. Thus I really dont think the family thing is an issue.

Over the past 2 years, Dempster has been very reliable and a great No. 2/3 guy, but his worst performances have been the most hyped games over that period of time. Last year at the Cell and last year in the playoffs. He plays the calm guy and you think he is under control, but I can't argue with the facts to this point. These were not just 2 bad games, but the absolute worst .

Would love to be wrong and see him shut down the Sox, we will see.

I am cutting Dempster some slack this year. I can't believe that what is going on in his personal life is not affecting his play. Even though he is saying that playing is his release but he isn't the type of guy to give excuses for his performance this year.

He wasn't sharp yesterday but he wasn't that bad. 3 runs in 6 innings is not my idea of a horrible outing.

He kept the Cubs in the game for the most part, but with all those walks the Sox should have scored more than 4 runs.
