I keep hearing and reading about the Cubs interest in signing Pedro.

Why? Can he play 3B and hit? If not, then we do not need him. The starting pitching has been the only bright spot on this team.

Mr. Hendry, stop trying to bring in another starting pitcher and get this team someone that can play 3B until Aramis gets back.

You can't assume the pitching is going to stay this good the rest of the season. They may need to add a starter but I don't think it's going to be Pedro. I read some teams are thinking of him as a reliever (which the cubs definitely need).

Well if they use him as a reliever and he has something left, then that is a completely different story.

But do you really think Pedro is going to settle for being a reliever? I dont.

Probably not but if he wants to pitch again he may not have a choice. He also said he wants to pitch for a contender. He's very demandy for someone who's not in demand.

It would be folly to go chasing after a guy like Pedro. They need to get someone who can play 3rd base as well as other positions when needed.....say a Mark DeRosa!!! That would be nice.

Gotta consider the Cubs looking at Pedro a sign they might be moving some of their current pitching. Clearly, the Cubs won't be able to toss some prospects toward a big name due to the salary... so maybe they are considering moving a guy like Harden.

Then why would he come to the Cubs anyways
