Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with Jim Hendry? Kevin Gregg was bad last year, & he is horrible this year.
The job that Hendry has done with the 2009 Cubs might just be one of the worse General Managing years in the history of MLB.
Trade Derosa for 3 pitching prospects.
Sign Milton Bradley
Sign Aaron Miles
Sign Kevin Gregg
Dont sign Adam Dunn
Hendry should be fired for fucking up a good team.
I agree that Hendry blew it trading DeRosa. He never should have been moved, unless it was in a deal with Baltimore for Roberts. Aaron Miles is a steaming pile of crap, I agree there too. Kevin Gregg was a poor choice too. But as much as I agree that because of extensive injury history and behavioral problems, Milton Bradley should never have been signed, I never would have gone after Adam dunn either. His defense is horrid and I want COMPLETE players. If I couldnt get Ibanez I would have signed Abreau. Abreau is not a great defensive player, but he could have been a nice stop-gap until a better player was developed or signed and he signed for just 1 year-5 million. Dunn's contract was too long, for too much money and he sucks on Defense. That makes him a bad signing too. We have had enough of those already. But hell, I stated all this in the winter, before all the crap that has happened this season.
In a nice turn of events, we agree on a few things.
I, too, was very much hoping for them to sign Abreu (or however he spells his name) - I've never figured out how the hell anybody with any authority (let alone intelligence) thought Bradley would be a good signing ... only thing I can think of was that it was done on a dare. And, despite Bernsie's gushie love for Dunn, I'll take a pass on him too.
