Milton's Mom: He could feel hatred from Cubs

T&R "Milton called me," Charlena Rector said, "and said, 'It's bad enough what I am going through, but I can take it and go to the ballpark and pray games don't last any more than nine innings. But my son?' "Hearing Bradley's mother staunchly defend him made one thing clear: Real or imagined, racial tension has wound Bradley tightly since the Wrigley Field home opener, when the pressure of replacing Mark DeRosa began to mount. "He told me he could feel the hatred from fans and he didn't have anything to do with them trading DeRosa, but he got the abuse anyway," Rector said.

This guy is a fucking baby and needs to grow up, or seek professional help.

All the while, @Hendry for making this mess.

This dude is seriously damaged goods. Will he be attractive to another team again?
I suppose if someone hired Vick, someone will hire Bradley.

What really matters here is Hendry proving to be such a damned idiot.
Once Ricketts unloads his fat dumb ass, he can join goofy Ron Schueler in some glorified baseball lifer scout role.
This guy's body of work as a GM and his wasteful spending and stupid contracts has pretty much insured he will not be hired as a GM by any club with any sense.

I hope that, with this nonsense coming out today, B and/or B are just 'in the mood' to go off on a nice six minute rant about him dragging race (aka "Crying Wolf" - not Bruce) into something it doesn't belong in, the damage that does to him as well as others, etc.

I don't think they have much venom left after yesterday's absolute murdering.

Don't worry, Im just upset I missed the opportunity to make a Bryan Adams zing. Those kind of chances don't come around here too frequently.

ive always liked and defended jim hendry for the most part. i think hes made a few really nice moves for the team in the last 3-4 years. with that said. after this offseason i think the cubs have no choice but to get rid of him. granted i dont know how many of these moves were his choice or handed down to him but...

derosa trade - bad
bradley signing - bad
aaron miles signing - bad
kevin gregg trade - bad
aaron heilman trade - bad
allowing the season to start with mike fontenot starting at 2nd - bad

Never getting the leadoff hitter they still need-bad.

They could have had Roberts for DeRosa and Marshall. That would have made sense. Then I could have seen parting with DeRosa. Bradley over Ibanez or Abreau, Gregg rather than signing Trevor Hoffman, and Miles EVER FOR ANY REASON were terrible decisions. Heilman, they got about what I expected. Never thought he was going to be an elite bullpen piece-who did they part with to get him anyway?

Never having adaquate backups for Ramirez (this year) and Lee (2006) were also pretty bad.
Phil Nevin bad
Losing Hank White bad
Losing Marquis Bad
Thinking that Theriot was a SS bad

Just thought I mention 3 division championships and had them within 5 outs of a WS appearance. Careful what you say about the Derosa trade. The 3 pitchers have all shown some promise! The fact remains though Mark Derosa was a above average player who had a good bat. BUT his contract did not have a no trade clause. This years team would have been better with him,no doubt.
