This bullshit of "They have to riase prices because of the salaries" BULLSHIT!!

This year was estimated to be a $148 Mill team salary, but was the going to be the high end of the money due!

Did this come as a god damn surprise?????????????????????????

Are they going to lower ticket prices next year when the payroll goes down? I am going to guess NO WAY

I can't say I have ever met anyone with that kind of money that is "Just like a regular guy", because they aren't just like a regular guy. They do whatever they want, whenever they want because they can buy it. If anyone doesn't do what they want, they get rid of them. This mentality is oozing from the Ricketts family.

Also, moving up the date the money is owed by 2 weeks is another issue. While I dont have 4 kids and a wife, if I did, I now need to work that addtional $5000-$10,000 into my Dec 20-Jan 8 spending.

Yes, I am considering dumping the tickets. Actually maybe a downsizing as we have a season ticket holders we are friends with in our section and emails are flying about going down to 10.

I will be happy to see how many of the 120,000 people will shell out of the $5,000 a ticket.

Does this mean that the Ricketts are going to replace Chairman Jerry as your #1 target? Damn, it IS cold outside...

this regular guy watches the games on tv, but i thank all of the season ticket holders for filling up the coffers at wrigley so we can get more over-priced "talent".

Maybe if you changed vendors for some of your work you'd get some free tickets

Bigfan, I'm with you. Another year or two of these prices and this performance level, and I'm out too. They'll replace me and my level, but they won't replace you and your level too quickly. Nas, it all comes down to performance. If they continue to be bad, Bigfan and I will get out. Trust me.

It's a shame that the Cubs are picking away at money you are earning illegally. What a bunch of dickheads.

I would fit that description. Bigfan does not, I don't think he sells his extras. You want to go to a game, DB? PM me. I'll pass a lot of games out at face. Take me up on it.

The three Cubs game I attended last season were all with free tickets. That's as high as my offer will go to watch this pile of shit. Thanks for the offer though.

You wanna charge me? Thats fine.

Now do something.

Plus, they are crying about these salaries like they bought the team, got the keys and opened the file cabinets totally surprised that they owed this money.

This "Secondary Ticket Market" exists for late June, July, early August.

"Slight Increase" my ass, another $1000??? Which was going to result in a "slight" payroll increase.

I never once said I thought these guys would be a good ownership. Yes, I undertstand "they own a business", thanks for the Business 101 lesson. However, I would never buy a business/building that relies upon my raising prices to "make money".
Yes, they are going to get it....now, but if I am digging deeper this year, I want them to as well.

Paying Crane Kenny $5 million, hiring another guy (Wally) for $2 million is not what I am looking for, unless they can play RF!

If people wouldn't pay, they wouldn't raise the prices.

raising prices in order for drunk people to have a nicer place to piss and a skating rink on the side of the stadium and to address the Bradley fuck up...

how does this get the Cubs closer to a championship?

It's called having a plan and not just springing some bullshit on me.

If I showed up the day before I was to start a renovation project and raised the price 20%, the customer would say FUCK YOU and fire me.

They know what they did and that is the reason they did it on a Friday Afternoon, so it was "not a story"

If Mr Ricketts does not "slightly increase" his payroll, I guess I can ask for a refund? Thats what he told me and he is a regular guy.

They did have close to 3 years to unveil a real plan for when they did buy this team and to date, all I see is an ice rink.

So could you!

Here's another option. You can even see the Cubs!

I also dont ask for publc assistance in my business. Neighborhood, Government (Landmark designation, lowers taxes), Police and traffic.

To just say "They are a business" is a simpleton remark and does not encompass everything involved in being a professional sports team.

Notice the Phil Rogers articel yesterday. Didn't say I AM NOT PAYING. It is saying what are you doing for me? Outside of a rink, a blank billboard, paid $1 mill to trade Aaron Miles and hired Wally Sczyxerbiak to be the new marketing guy, because they need to fix the bad marketing problems.

People say "give them time" . All I asked for was a plan for $11,000

Dude, you bitch and moan a lot. I have an idea. If you don't like the plan for your $11,000...don't fucking buy the tickets. It's pretty simple. If I buy a hotdog at a hotdog stand every single day and then one day they change the hot dogs and I don't like them anymore would it be logical for me to continue buying the hotdogs? Of course not, I'm going to not waste my money on something that's not going to maximize my happiness. It's pretty simple.

see, who's going to hold their feet to the fire though? The fans who watch on TV have no right to complain. Bigfan pays the players salaries. He has a right to ask for more. Simple as that.

He also has the right to not pay their salaries if he doesn't like the direction the company is going. Free will is awesome.

Also, the fans that watch on T.V also kinda do have a right. If they didn't watch the contracts for the rights wouldn't be as big and the Cubs would feel the effects. Not a huge right, but a right nonetheless.

4 Cubs Seats for 82 games = $11,000 hotdog.

I learned something new today!

I'm glad. I also hope you learned that if you bitch and moan about paying for that $11,000 hotdog on a message board for long enough, the organization won't do anything and you'll still have to pay for that $11,000 hotdog, when you could have just not bought it and saved yourself the money.

I was just trying to convert you to the White Sox.

Ricketts seems to be your new Reinsdorf.

Both are taking my money for personal gain right now.

I think they are actually very similar.

However, if anyone does remember when Reinsdorf and Einhorn bought the Sox, they did all they could to get off to a great start. Fisk, Luzinski, LeFlore. Right or Wrong, they tried to do what they thought would be a positive move.

This "get rid of Milton" should have been the focus. I said it from Day 1, hour 1 minute1.

If Ricketts was the HUGE Cub fan he claims he should have known it.

These guys act like they have no clue what they got when they bought this team? No statements from them except day 1, everything comes from Crane and Jim hendry???
