Dear Neighbors,
Come skate in the shadow of the Friendly Confines!
The Ricketts family and the Chicago Cubs are proud to present a new ice skating rink available to the community at Wrigley Field this winter. The Rink is operated by Westrec Marinas Management, the Chicago Park District's ice rink manager, and is made possible through the generosity of the Ricketts family, new owners of the Cubs, the City of Chicago, the Chicago Park District, 44th Ward Ald. Tom Tunney, Westrec and others.
The Rink at Wrigley builds on the overwhelming response to the 2009 NHL Winter Classic, which featured the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field. Following the Winter Classic, many neighbors joined us to skate on the ice until the Rink needed to be removed. Many more in the community asked the Cubs to find a way to bring back skating this winter.
"The Rink at Wrigley is a great way to bring winter fun to our community and to highlight our commitment to our neighbors and the City of Chicago," said Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts. "We are excited to offer a family-friendly activity for our fans and neighbors at the ballpark during the off-season."
The Rink at Wrigley is located on the Cubs parking lot at the corner of Clark and Addison. Admission is $10 per adult, $6 per child and may be purchased on site for the morning, afternoon or evening sessions. Proceeds help offset the cost of the rink. Skate rentals will be available for an additional fee.
The Rink at Wrigley will be available to the public beginning December 15, 2009, through February 2010. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., Friday 2 p.m. until 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Hope to see you on the ice soon!
